Played a few times in my early 20's and started more hardcore when I was 38 or so. Will be 45 soon. I think there is a bit of a sweet spot for prime playing years. Money is a big factor, but so is time and having others willing to go play. I find that starting late for me is a hinderance as I really don't have a lot of people to go play with. Most guys my age look at me a little odd when I tell them I run around in the woods shooting at people. People around here are more into hunting and fishing.

I starter in '88 when I was 14, played pretty hardcore from the early 90's till 2000 or so. I sold all of my tourney level guns in early '01, just got back into it last August and I'm in deep BUT with a different mind-set, it's exercise, something that's fun as he!!, my daughter loves it (bonding time......ahhh), and I'm at a better place in life now then when I was a "kid" and kind of a prick!
Now, I'm going in just looking to have fun, not always worried about how many guy's I shot out, not always worried about "how many patches did I get today", but I AM out there looking to help newbies out on the field if they need a hand, show some younger people how to make strategies to get to the flag or whatever the end result is. Sorry I'm rambling but back to the question at hand, I was 14 when I started, I'm 38 now with an 11 year break in between.
Started with a Splatmaster, moved onto a Nelspot 007, then came the Autocockers, then a STERLING Pump, next was a Bob Long defiant then a PM7. As of now I have 4 Sterling Pumps, 2 Phantom for SC and 2 Spyder's plus a bunch of extra parts.

Yeah, I was 15 when I first started. I remember having to ask to be driven to the paintball field. And now Im 29, crazy to think that I have been playing paintball for close to 15 years...

Started when I was 16 and I am 33 now. I was never able to afford the nicer markers when I was younger, so I was normally playing with the rental pumps that they had. Now that I am in a stable, decent paying job, I have several decent markers and paint price is an after thought.

I started about 6 years back. I'll be 60 this coming summer. Just call me "Gramps"

The new house and other intrests have kept me away from paintball the last couple of years but I'm still keen and I plan on getting back to it this summer.

Growing old is unavoidable. Growing UP is optional....
I had a "Paintball God" moment once.
Like Al Bundy's Polk High football moment I live on
for the slim chance of repeating that one time
miracle in some small way.........

What do people think about the starting age of 10.
I want to bring my son out, but he is only 7. I just want to get him started!
