Definitely a thermal lens. That is by far the thing I wish I would have had from the beginning... Oh and a CCM pump.

I was thinking a CCM pump...then I thought I wouldn't have changed anything...the experience is half the fun...and CCM didn't make pumps when I started.

Another vote for a quality mask. I also watched Mike's vids on YouTube and his first suggestion made a lot of sense. I had already purchased a Tippmann A5, but my very next purchase was my V-Force Grill. I'm not regretting that one at all.

its a tough choice between a good mask(to prevent fogging) and knee/shin/-elbow/forearm pads.

I would wear old school hard style knee pads sometimes but that was about it.
With new elbow pads and knee/shin pads I can play a lot more aggressive and dont worry as much about bashing into things or just "superman-ing"

Playing pistol without pads is just insane to me now. I would need to visit the hospital after a weekend of play now just to make sure everything is still a-ok.
I have "bad spots" on my legs/arms I probably fractured many bones but never bothered to get an X-ray.

LMAO oh dont get me wrong thats up there too.

Have yet to put my mag up for a real good game but tippmanns were such a money pit over and over again to achieve nothing more then a "look"

A pocket chronograph. Fixing and testing gear got a whole lot simpler after getting one.

Yeah, good mask would be key. The old JTs I had back in the 90's fogged up walking across the netting.

I would have to echo the good goggles. The Uvex I started with were really uncomfortable and prone to fogging.

Oh, I forgot that was all there was in '85
