I agree that Tippmann is easily #1.

Just as easily, I feel that WGP must be #2.

Kinda scary when you think about it... but if you use this logic then tippmann has been, and will continue to be the image of paintball. I agree though, Tippmann must have nearly as many eliminations as the powers that be have dollar bills in debt!

The only thing that gives me pause about Tippmann is the thought that most rentals aren't scoring a lot of eliminations compared to the guys who've decided that the game is something that they want to commit to, and then usually buy their own gear early en route to becomign a skilled player. The eliminations per marker produced I would imagine is lower for Tippmann than, say, AGD, but I suspect Tippmann still has the numbers by volume, and that's how I voted.

I've definitely scored more eliminations personally with my 98 than any other marker, just because for a long time it was the only gun I owned and used, excluding the borrowed Talon from my first time or two.

Speaking of BE, they probably have a production volume advantage as well, but I'm guessing that most players at the height of the sport's popularity quickly figured out that BE wasn't a long term solution and picked up something more durable early on.

It's possible Brass Eagle came out a little earlier than Tippmann, but I'm not sure- even if they did, though, Tippy had a clear edge in production even back then.

AGD didn't start making a gun until '90, Kingman until '95 and Smart Parts 'til '96. DYE didn't start making a marker 'til... what, the Matrix in '00 or '01? PE didn't start making a full marker 'til something like '02 or '03, and by that time, there were well over half a million Tippmanns out there.

Doc.

The Trix wasn't a DYE product until late '03

Other than that.

I don't know man. Those rental guys are dedicated. It seems like they are always out there before me, and after I leave. They shoot each other a lot.

Not just that but a lot of fields do most of their business in private parties bachelor parties, birthdays, corporate team building, etc. I know the one field up here that's their bread and butter. Private parties are, most of the time, mostly or all rentals. Chalk up more kills for tippmann

I reffed a lot at my field last summer, and probably 90% of our business was with rentals in some form

Tippman since practically every field rents them out. A close second would be Kingman with their Spyder lineup as that's what most people progress to if they don't go to a 98C.

I also think different parts of the country have different opinions on gun manufactures. I have played in a few different regions and in the midwest for example , they are partial to Smart Parts/ GOG. So when you would go out to the fields you would see shockers and ions...ect everywhere.

On the West Coast, it was different, see way more, DYE and Bob Long. I would imagine, Europe is very partial to Eclipse...ect.

Interesting with how that could play a part in this discussion.

Given the widespread adoption of Tippmanns, and the several decade head start they have on everyone else, I don't think it matters.
