Getting more velocity out of a Vector

Hey, I just recently had a craving for BA'ness so two weeks and $223 later, I sit here with a near minty Vector Model B. Shoots AWESOME, and it about made me deaf the first time I dry fired it in the basement fixing a minor leak. However, when I put paint through it, I was shooting around 250ish. Is there any way to get me closer to 270-300 range. Not over of course though. Thanks!

She told me we couldn't afford beer anymore and that I'd have to quit drinking. Then I caught her spending $65 on makeup. I asked how come I had to give up stuff and she didn't. She said she needed the makeup to look pretty for me. I told her that was what the beer was for. I don't think she's coming back...

Have you tried using the velocity adjuster located in the ASA? Use a 5/64 allen wrench and turn counter clockwise to increase velocity. Adjust in quarter turn increments!

Here is a link to the manual:

I can't find a screw head back there. I see the hex key go past the small hole on the left, but theres nothing to turn. Also, who turns down the AB o-ring grooves, I think I have a small tear in one of them.

Then you have the same problem I had when I first purchased my Vector. Meaning it has been made "Thruster Ready" if the adjustment screw is missing then you have to use a regulator to adjust your velocity.

So regulating the pressure would make the velocity go up?

For the record, I'm using CO2

You should have a reg anyway. Liquid really wreaks havoc on a vector and a reg will help with efficiency and possibly even slow the LPR vent.

BUT a reg will not cure your velocity problem (unless it's sprung for LP and the HP gas is keeping the valve closed-I am assuming this isn't the case). You probably need to pull off the AB unit and either lighten the valve spring or put in a heavier hammer spring. IIRC the springs are standard Nelson/cocker springs.

Weak main spring maybe. If you leave you vector cocked for awhile then it can kill you spring.

I sent you the Sheridan Reg in the box with the vector...hope you didn't through it out.....W/E you do dont pull apart the AB setup. Those o-rings shred when u do that and are hard to find.

Yeah, I did pull out the AB assembly, and there is a knick in one of the rings which I'm getting a small leak down the barrel from (kicks self in forehead). I am looking for someone who can turn down the grooves for tank rings.

About the springs though, what I'm thinking is a weak valve spring and a heavy bolt spring, that way, I can work down the velocity with a stabilstock. Does that sound ok, or should I only weaken/strenthen one?

Oh, and that leak coming out of the side plate, I think is from the o-ring on the brass air tube, so what would be the best replacement?
