Who uses a camera ?

I have some spare money to spend on gear or something I want so I was thinking of a gun or getting a camera.

I'm not the kind of person who uploads videos to youtube everyday or editing every day, but I might if I get a Camera. I play Speedball on season and woodsball off with my team.

I don't really need a gun unless its something to play around with. I use a luxe and a e sniper now.

Do you guys use a camera ?

Are you talking about an "action cam"? If so, then yes, they are a lot of fun to have. I wear a GoPro Hero 2 on top of my mask pretty much whenever I play. It's always a lot of fun to go through your day and recap your plays and review your eliminations.

It's always fun to brag about stuff like this.

If you are up for an action camera, I suggest either the Replay XD or the Sony Action Cam. The Replay is small, which is nice. The Sony has alot of features, and isn't that much bigger than the Replay. Plus the Sony has a swappable battery, the Replay does not.

I use a Contour Roam, it films wide angle 170 degree at 720HD, and is perfect for paintball, and cheap enough that you don't have to worry about it. If you are patient, you can get one for $100 or less. I put mine between my eyes, right on my visor with the furnished tape mount. (and use a zip tie or duct tape to keep it from "bouncing" when running).

Action cams are really fun, as they show you what you missed when you were playing. You will go back and be like, whoa, I didn't even see that guy over there getting in position and taking me out! But, you really can't see much with them unless the target is backlit or close to you.

You can build a ZoomCam setup like mine for $225 with the camera. That is the only way to truely "see" what you are shooting at paintball distances.

I have a contour HD720, you can pick up a HD1080 contour for like $140, and I believe they are better than go-pros because of the angle you can achieve, example:

GoPros always have that looking down towards the ground rather into the distance angle because they are mounted on the head.

i like how your's can zoom in. to me the issue with helmet cam is that the object you are shooting at is so small in the vids.

Contour if you use a hopper, GoPro if you don't.

Contour has much better sound unless you perforate the GoPro case. I don't personally see any reason to use a waterproof case in paintball.

How do you mount your Sony HDR-AS10/15?

Currently, I don't have one. But when I do get one, I will mount it the same as I do my Contour. Either use a handlebar mount for a barrel mount, or the strap mount for the mask.
