Replacing mask lens?

I haven't played in close to 5 years, should I replace my mask lenses? Do they get brittle over time? Should I do it just to be safe? It might be better for me to just buy a new mask, mine are so dated.

I play every weekend. I change my lens twice a year. Not going to risk anything. Id say change it!

All manufacturers recommend periodic lens replacement (i.e. JT recommends annually). I've heard that the primary cause of lens degradation is ultraviolet light so, I personally wonder if or how much longer an un-used lens could be kept.

JT (and I suspect other manufacturers) also suggest lens replacement after receiving a hit from at or under 10ft.

You use a mask?...................................... lol
If they are dated maybe it would be best to buy a new mask, because as any paintball player will tell you the most important piece of equipment you will ever own will be the mask for protection, and being able to see and enjoy the game.

replace it not worth risking your vision. I stocked up on lenses at carnage last summer got a dual pane thermal for my profilers also got 2 spare stock clears and a smoke all for under $50

I change mine every year, I just bought this years supply. I generally use 2 masks in a day because I'm a sweaty beast and the foam gets soaked. Both use the same lenses, JT Spectra/Proflex. Last season I replaced one part way through the season because the thermal pane was coming undone.

Personally my vision is worth the $30-40 I spend on lenses a year.

What mask you using? Depending on If it's a nicer mask, and you can find a lens for it then yeah I would at the least grab a new lens. And like they said above don't skimp out. get a thermal one. Can't shoot what you can't see!

Thanks guys! I have 2 masks, one of the old purple JT Proflex, and one of the original VForce masks. I'll go ahead and replace both lenses if I can.
