Legitimate Woodsball: It's in the woods

Back in the olden days when Brass Eagle dominated the fields, woodsball was the only way to play.
Where you were put in a large wooded area with your only cover being the nature and minimal manmade bunkers.
You had to actually strategize, make small "squads" of people who split into seperate directions because the fields were so large and there are too many trees to actually just go running in guns a blazing like most games we play now.
You had to actually be tactical.

We've moved away from these type of games because the size of the woodsball field would take up at least a third of the park itself, meaning the park would only have 3-4 fields on site.
That would mean that players would get bored of playing the same field.
Meaning that they needed to divide the woods up into several smaller fields to keep the variety.

So what if we had someone grant us permission to play paintball on the one acre vastness that is his private property?
20 players.
3 scuba tanks.
2 teams.
1000 acres.

One, very large woodsball game like it was back in the days before I was born.
I dunno.

Fan of EMR
Brass N Wood Fan
We do exactly that, twice a month.

Outlaw/Renegade Paintball is still big here in New England.
I play more private woodsball games than commercial fields.

It's not that great in SoCal, considering there's a park every 5 feet here.

In the Olden days it was Sheridan and Nelson that ruled the field and the woods. Brass Eagle came sometime later.

I was the guy who hated to lay on the ground

Later,

Well considering I live in urban San Diego it's a bit hard to find someone who owns an acre of land.
It's even harder trying to convince him to play paintball on it.

To find more than an acre of private land means I have to look eastward.
But yeah I will agree it's not that big.
however I digress.

Wow, not looking for real estate out there anytime soon. Around these parts an acre is normally the absolute minimum amount of property you need in order to get permits to build a residence.

Yeah for larger property in SoCal you'd have to travel at least 2 hours north here.
Or 2 hours east from where I live. Those consist of 3-4 acres at least.

But yeah 1 acre of untouched land where I live is a bit hard to come by.
I also misinterpreted the size of an acre, I was under the impression it was a bit bigger but my statement still stands.
One acre of untouched land in my area is hard to come by.

That is how we play at Trails of Doom. We play on about 10 acres at least. The field is HUGE. And VERY fun.

Here is footage from a game yesterday.

I wore a pedometer at our last event in December in the snow, and went over 6 miles!

Big fan of your videos man!
I really wish I could find someplace like that where I live.
It would be much more fun without paying as much money.
