And now, the Parrots offer a 720 camera up front.

My idea is to mount a Sony cam at a downward angle, probably around 35 degrees or so, and let it film (Using my iPad for a monitor), and flying the drone back and forth over an open field (Too many trees means that you either have to fly low enough to get shot at, or you fly above and don't get any footage). I would need a few of the battery packs though, to get enough footage.
Flight time is the only thing that really worries me about these type of 'drones'. I would love to be able to live stream legends or d-day or something similar without having to change out batteries every 20 minutes.

And that is the problem. We are limited by power source and engines. You can spend quite a bit of money, and get something that can fly for an hour or more, or you can use something like the Parrot (The 2.0 is $300 brand new in stores, with the higher capacity batteries being around $40). So it's a trade off, do you want something that won't cost an arm and a leg, or something that will stay in the air for quite a while?

Right. That seems like it's always the issue with battery operated devices. If you used it to stream a game, you may not need as much movement capability especially if you're mostly hovering. It could be possible to tether it to a larger battery on the ground, but that could defeat the purpose of a drone.

I have a tree trimmer at home (telescoping pole that is about 20 feet high)... I'm going to try my Contour Roam on the top and see what the footage looks like.

It might be a low tech way to get some good crane shots... And best of all, it won't cost a dime to try it out.
