I think this is great. I know some kids at my local field won some GoPro's last season and I asked them what kind they were. If they are 3's, I think they should really look into this.

I'm wondering if you can switch between feeds if you have some master program. So you can rig one team up and cut to camera feeds so as not to get stuck with one boring view all the time. Able to change things up on the fly? I guess that might be a program after the fact.

From what I've seen it's possible to swap cameras with google hangout. however, the tricky part comes when youtube is brought in.

One option would be to have a camera/computer setup for each player, and just be able to click on a link to the other live stream/have multiple windows pop up with each stream.

another could be to have a split screen type thing going on hangout -> youtube. (not sure if possible though)

If these were possible I just see it making an event only need 2 computers (one for each side) to make an entertaining video feed collected from all players at once.

Regardless this has been a really awesome project to watch. I'm looking forward to see what you guys can pull off with this stuff.

The fancies is the GoPro makes its own network - it broadcasts, doesnt join an existing network - with one gateway IP...defaults to 10.5.5.9. All GoPros would have the same Gateway IP address.

So to network, Im looking at changing the Default Gateway for each camera...

Then you have to have 1 wifi card or wifi usb for each camera to capture each signal. Remember the GoPro makes its own network, so without some good networking engineering, you cant connect it to an existing Wifi Network. Its doable, but you have to spend a bit of time and have some comp sci experience.

So its far simpler to get 1 USB Wifi for each camera.

Then you would have to configure each VLC for each IP. But that would not be hard.

Then you are done...so its doable...

Sorry, I dont mean to not talk english. But if you are interested, I could make a normal language tutorial.

Too bad the IPs aren't different. I've been tooling around with manycam since it's free. I could get up to 4 PIPs and was able to broadcast it live to my youtube. I'm going to try a few other programs to see what works the best.

AH! I think you can...so...what did you do after the different ips to get the 4 PIP on your screen.

It's just a part of the program. I had it set up just showing my laptop camera, then I had some .gifs going in place of the video. I can do one with all .gifs just to show what's going on.

Here's the video, potentially pointless since it's not live. There's no audio and nothing interesting happens, but it just shows the 4 Picture in a picture option.
I'm using the free version, the paid version is $50 I believe.
