Grenades

One of my buddies who airsofts showed me some of these grenades. I have personally never used them, but from the youtube videos it looks like they may be a better option than paintball grenades. The only downside is you have to retrieve the pierce pin assembly.

I watched a few youtube videos and the grenades just make a loud bang, but at least they go off every time you throw one.

Figured I would pass this along to the scenerio players on here.

So... it makes a noise? What's the point? Would the game producers use them to increase the 'realism' or would individual players be throwing these around?

130 db is awfully loud to have in a game that doesn't use any form of hearing protection.

Is it actually that loud? The players didn't seem to be that startled. they were all just like

WOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA DUDE!

Well, I see scenerio players complaining about ref's not calling grenade, mortars, or rocket kills, so I figured that I would pass along the info. You could use them for either I suppose, use it just like a normal grenade (even with no paint mark, I think players would be more clearly indicated they were hit with an "explosive round". From what i have been reading about scenerio games, ref's tend to not be around when rockets are flying. I could see ref's moving towards the sound of one of these, over the sound of a nerf round hitting the ground.) or just use it for sound effects.

I play speedball with a stock class gun usually so I have no use for these either, just thought they were kinda neat.

Cant see the video at the moment but it sounds like "flashbangs" that work on co2.. No flash really just a loud bang.. kinda to startle / distract players so you can make a move

I have a few. They are pretty loud. I tossed one and the pin did t fully pirce the 12 gram. So I picked it up and reset it, and when I went to tossed it again it went off on my hand. Scared the crap out of me but there isnt really a way to get hurt with it. It fills the plastic peice with air until it pops. Then you just reload the 12 gram and screw on a new body. We used a few inside a local shopping mall during training ( late at night) and it was glorious

Request for experiement please!

Whoever has one of these, please fill the plastic can with paint (also baby powder, flour, .50 cal paintballs or .68 if they fit, etc..) then toss one....

Video appreciated!!!

Might be a blast... pun intended.

Paint-soaked shredded paper might be ideal here, cleanup excepted.

Maybe a slurry of shredded paper and paintballs, cheaper the better, in a blender??? Find the correct fill the so the inserted part diplaces slurry until fluid packed. Might be a winner here! if safe that is
