Rifle Stock...

Anybody ever make one from scratch?

My big question.....

Where do I get the wood for it?

Long story short.... the stock I got for my double barrel ion build... idnt gonna work, its already been channeled for a single barrel and it needs to be double barrel

I have a time cruch, 6 weeks until the build MUST BE COMPLETE AND FINISHED AND RAFFLED.

sooo

A) What wood, where do I get it, etc
B) Finishing... saw, shape, sand, stain, lacquer

Right?

I have a SR-4 Double Barrel VM-68
It is the stock I want to copy...

Its just a matter of building....

What about using the forend stock from a double barrel shotgun?

No no, stock making is only done by a hand full of people who are trained and skilled craftsmen. Only they can make stocks.

As for wood, forget it! That stuff is harder to find then a forum on MCB without a mayo reference in it. Only said Craftsmen can obtain it.

(midnight posting = bad doo doo from me) :p

call a hardwood supplier, get a few nice files, a bandsaw and a gatorade. and get to work.
use your mill to cut the channels and what have you. as far as finishing goes just pm me when you find your wood and i can help you out.

Go to any local gun shows, they often have gun stock blanks.
