Martial Arts and Paintball?
Do those of you that practice both find any of your martial knowledge bleeding into your paintball strategies and tactics?
So far I have had moderate success with cat-stepping and horse stance. If nothing else, I'm getting 10x the leg workout than I normally do.
If no, then at least tell me about your best John Woo moment!
Got to the pistol forum and find a thread called The Final Agent Smith. There is a lot in there about his Tai Chi Pistol that you can check out.
And a lowered down variant. Basically, make a horse stance and then widen your legs a bit more and bend your knees 'till your butt is close to the ground. That's basically how I play in short bunkers.
Knowing how to fall helps too.:p
Strategy-maintain contact and control distance.
I find my firearms training comes into play a lot more often than any martial arts training I've had.
I trained in martial arts for 15 years with 3 of those overlapping competitive paintball. I noticed my agility and flexibility where a lot better when i trained in both at the same time. Most of all my balance in paintball was better than most people I played with. As far as mental skills translating from martial arts to paintball, I do know of any specific.
Anybody read it?
I haven't, but I've always loved the cover.
More people should play paintball in hakamas.

When I read the title of this thread I was thinking about ninjas playing paintball...
