I wasn't smart enough to record the serial number before shipping it to him...I guess I'll have to try it out and see how it works??? I'm not really even sure I want to accept this package, my auction stated there were no returns allowed.

What's your return policy on your Ebay auction? Either way, I'd just do the return but do ALL communication through ebay messaging so there is a formal record.

You should be all right in this case. Ebay does not like people who fudge with things that they intend to return. When he files the claim, say this:
"The marker worked exactly as described when I shipped it. According to your own testimony you made several changes to the marker which resulted in damage. Now that you have damaged the marker by attempting to "repair" it, I cannot accept a return. I'm sorry for this transaction not going better, but the marker is no longer my responsibility."

I like what he said /\
But I'm gonna throw my hat into the ring here and say..
1 he lives where it's cold out and the macro didn't bite. Causing leaks.
2 He received the marker and like most people either investigated the marker via disassembly / or while through cleaning and did not have the wits to put it back together right.
3 He suffered a immediate case of buyers remorse after handling the marker..

but the most likely is a combination of the above 3

If you do receive a box, film yourself opening it at the PO (ask for permission first).

Don't take it back. It is obviously not in the condition you sent it in. He helped your case by saying he messed with it, fixing some things, but not others. According to ebay, as soon as he messed with it, he changed the condition he received it in. That being the case (and make sure ebay knows he already altered stuff), ebay would force him to keep it.

Don't give in and send his $ back and accept the gun back. That is what he wants. He might have harvested internals, swapped parts from another gun, or a host of other things. It is obvious he is bull ****ting anyways. It is a sniper. I don't know if he is a scammer, or just a beginner who doesn't know what he is doing, but I don't trust him...
