The ache in my legs and back trying to get out of the truck after the 5 hour drive home from the latest big game.

This! No better sound in the world than an auto cocker back block.

The smell of duct tape when I ship another box of parts or markers off to someone.

Or the drool of opening up a new box of gear.

Or the slide and click of my KL cocking.

Funny story from me. I got rid of my pod pack, one hopper full, 13/3k tank on my Phantom. Ready to sprint as far as I can off the start. Go left side. Sprint off the break. Just keep going. Looking at the ground a bit to make sure I don't trip on anything (woodsball). Look up and see 8 guys in front of me. Turn around to every which side, seeing the closest teammate 30 feet behind me. No close bunkers, only one skinny tree that won't give me cover. Get lit up by 8 people. That was fun.

For me though, it's the first game. It's where all the adrenaline kicks in. It's been a while, and you're a little scared, heart racing. You want to start the day off right, and make plays. But you don't want to leave empty-handed your first game.

There's this corner of my mancave where I keep all of my paintball gear neatly on pegboard. That specific corner of the room smells paintball. Goldcup oil, paint, freshly washed jersey... Brings all sorts of mental pictures and inevitably gives me the urge to hit the field and play.

The sound of a tippy98 rental running out of air and bouncing for the next 2 minutes till it runs out of air. Makes me want to strangle someone.

I love that sound because usually they don't know what it means. That way I can take my tine stalking them and having fun with my prey.

now that I think about it some more, something about the sound of paintballs shaking around in a hopper or pods is just like hypnotizing...

almost like the sound of spurs on cowboy boots, or footsteps of marching soldiers/bands... the shake of the paintballs just gets me excited for what's about to happen (either getting lit the f*** up or taking out some other players haha)

I found a 10 round tube about 6 years old in my closet. I popped the cap and the unmistakable smell of GAP banana ball filled my nose and took me way back. I was pretty suprised with how big of a response I got from just a smell.

true story, about a year after i started playing i got a kill by degassing my gun so it would burp. waiting for someone to hear easy prey. screw tank back in and you end up with a very bitter hunter. Just a thought, try it if the situation allows. (the rof was considerably lower back then)
