WALZ Lacewood Sheridan Stock (in the making)
Bought a piece of Lacewood and am making this sheridan stock. Stock has a extra 1" drop leg neck and a palm groove on one side.
Really comfy and the 1" extra drop lets you sight down your marker (the way sheridan should have made them)...
This wood is amazing looking....
I only have one coat of sealer on her now...

Thanks, Yea -thats is some wild looking wood.
I glued this together (two 1" pieces) two days ago and
cut the rough shape out this morning.
Went to grammy's (her birthday -85) and got home at 4:30.
Started putting the file to her and before I knew it I had the sandpaper out
and was down to the 320 grit by 6:30.
At 6:45 I put the first coat of boiled linseed oil/turpintine sealer on her.
All by hand and close to done in 3-4 hrs total...
(was I in a time warp or did time just stop for a while - and did this happen to anyone else?).
No home for this one yet - think I will make a wood pump handle to match though.
Does this one tickle anyones fancy......

Definately tickles my fancy...my wallet not so much. Thank you for sharing your projects with the rest of us. I had never heard of lacewood before, that is really cool stuff. I'm sure this project will turn out looking just as good as the rest of them.

Lacewood is used often in custom guitars and can be VERY pretty. You're doing some fantastic work on custom stocks lately, WALZ, really great stuff. Wish I had a k-series...
...'cause bandaid's stuck on me!
