interesting thread on pbn about Keith Idema/paintball history

I was looking for old pics and this popped up:

It's interesting to read some of the jaded comments made by paintball industry "oldtimers".

That's about as necro a thread as I can think of. Dug up a dead thread from a different graveyard about a dead guy. Not bad.

This deserves a cheap necro pic...

Idema lives in infamy.

Yes. You may copy any ICS design you desire.

Well..... Idema might find some way to ghost-punch me from the seventh circle of Hell (or depending where he's at, carpet bomb my house with a squadron of Valkyries from Valhalla)...so I'll pass :)

Man, Keith was a strange one, but I never bought some of the stories about him.

..and by the way, Ed Dovner is a prick and USI was a joke. A few of their products were solid (even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while) but Dovner was basically the American version of Francois Louvett when it came to stealing IP, violating patents and copyrights, and delivering a subpar product for more than it was worth.

Yeah, just looking at the ads in APG you could see the timeline and similarities. The great Carnac could see that episode coming.

Even his solid products, the last Phantom clone he did, was sloppy - it had a weird plastic ring pressed on to the feedneck which covered a big sloppy weld on either side! Shot fantastic nonetheless, but how sloppy is that?
