I use 50rd app pods not filled to the top. Just filled to around where the bottom of the lid ring is on the inside. I find that's about 40 balls or so. yes it does make the balls rattle around a bit in my pack but I'm usually at the front lines of the game so it doesn't matter if my opponents hear me or not.

Falcon, attach a bit of egg crate foam or something similar to the lid and you'll be set.

As for the original topic, I can usually go 3 games before I have to top off my 40 rnd ammo box knock off, IF I do have to reload during a game, I'll pull a couple tubes with a ball chambered and go to town.

Things I would like to purchase with American dollars:
1: Scorpion marker (the old spyder clone)
2: A nice unmolested Nelspot 007 pump handle
3: A noxx or jcs bottomline stock
4: Hammer 7 thumbwheels

If you can still find them, mod your hopper with a Dye Locklid. Then do the same mod to your pods. Then the openings are the same size. no problems!

I'm not really worried about noise since I play speedball.

The problem with those 30rd pods is that I don't think they'll fit right in the harness.

I usually get shot out before I have to reload, but on those rare occasions I do have to re load, I have never had a problem. I usually spill six, or so balls, but I don't mind, because the APP 50's feed best when they are not full anyway. Seeing some of those 30's posted earlier in this thread has made me think I may have to adapt my setup though...

Every time I see a winchester for sale, I slap myself for selling all three of my winchesters when I thought I was getting out of the game...

Thanks for the tips, I'll try with just partially loading the pods.

I just made my own 50rnd hopper.

Bottom section of a $5 regular hopper, and half of a Pod plus it's lid. Then Zip-tied the parts together...
