My Daughter started two years ago (she's 14yrs old now - almost 15) and I threw this together with spare parts:

She used it for a few times, liked Paintball enough so I got her an 06 BM pump. She has been using it since and is pretty deadly in the snake with it lol

She wants a space gun to play speedball with, she uses a pump against speedballers, but she wants to join an all girl team to compete...so an upgrade to a battery is what she wants hehe

What I may end up doing is let her use my Phantom with a 50 round hopper and a 3.5oz tank. I've removed the pump return spring and she seems comfortable with it. So, I may look for that PGP or Splatmaster to add to my personal collection. I'll then let her pick which she wants to play with.

I just had the perfect idea; pick up that ACP (or something similar), put a bottomline on it with a 3.5-oz, and when she's not using it you have a sweet little compact shooter to play around with.

Another consideration is the Hammer7. She can use a gravity feed hopper or play with mags if she wants and the back bottle shouldn't be too much with a 9 oz.

That's a very long gun, though...if she has short little arms it would be really awkward.

I considered the Hammer but for her, my initial budget is less than $50. Otherwise, I'll probably just go with a rental. However, since it's a pistols/pumps game and rentals are semis, I wanted to go the cheap pistol or pump route. If she gets into the game, I figure I'll get her own gear then. The ACP does seem like a viable solution.

I had my youngest daughter use a 98, she is a tiny little thing. It isn't limited paint, but she isn't going to be shooting ropes anyway... Other than it not catching once, it worked fine. She even used a 20 ounce, as I didn't even think of putting a 9 ounce on there for her. (a remote line would have been too complex I figured).

I have video of her and her friend capturing the flag in one of our games. I was one proud Papa!

I don't see an issue with giving a 13 year old first time newbie a semi against experienced players with pumps.

He nick named the gun Reggie.
