| Active Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Mineral Wells, WV | Beginning the search...vest and pouches I have decided to start researching and trying to make up my mind on a vest or ches-rig setup of some kind. After searching on specialopspaintball.com, opsgear.com, pbreview.com, forum searches of MCB and others sites and the advice of blackrain, I have decided to go with a MOLLE system for versatility. Unfortunately, I have been unable to locate a tactical vest in the $40-$60 range (not chest rigs) in MULTICAM on any site I have searched so far. MULTICAM options are primarily the expensive Blackcell Operative Vest at Specialops and some other more expensive vests. So, after eBay searching and looking at other sites, I am strongly considering the Opsgear MOLLE tactical vest here... OPSGEAR . Yes, it is more than some other options easily found on eBay but it offers what looks to be a better vest with more MOLLE webbing around the shoulders. So, does anyone own this vest or know someone who does? Does it hold up well or should I pass and look into something else? I am thinking OD green since MULTICAM isn't offered and then adding MULTICAM pouches. Anyone own a chest rig? If so, any opinions? Are they versatile enough and allow you to carry sufficient paint/gear? I kind of like the look of the Specialops Blackcell Alias Vest Shell ( BLACKCELL - ALIAS VEST SHELL ) but it is pricey. On top of that, I have read the quality of Specialops products vests aren't the best around. So, if anyone has experiences to pass along, they would be appreciated. Thanks! JKR

| Shop Smart,Shop S-Mart Join Date: Jul 2006 | the quality on Cops911 was the best then Robert joined Specops Then they out sourced to China and Robert left... Robert is in a no compete clause for awhile so he is doing these: Custom Tactical Vests EMS Vests Military Gear, Molle Pockets which kinda sucks because we on DBD designed his first paintball vest for him |

| MCB Member | I have an NXe vest and love it. Its by far my favorite vest that I have used. It has a pod pack type belt that holds the vest on. So all the weight isnt on your shoulders. And makes the vest fit much better, and doesnt bounce all around when you run. It fits skinny guys like me 32 waist and huge guys. We got a killer deal on them 2 years ago at D-day, so if you have it in your budget or have the ability to at least try one on I would definatly go for it. Nick |

I try to stray away from paintball vests, as they are not as good quality and way over priced. Blackwater Gear - I-O Tactical LB Vest I like... Last edited by brandonc14; 10-11-2007 at 03:16 AM.. |

| MCB Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: The Nasti Natti | This thread leads me to a question my team and I have been trying to figure out: Who makes good Molle 140rnd pod pouches? I'm not talking single pouches that open upwards, and fasten with a buckle (a la Opsgear.) I'm looking for something in a 2+1 (elastic band in the middle), downward opening pod shingle that closes with velcro like a standard pack. I've seen the warsensor ones, but those have been on 'national backorder' for 4 months now, and they don't answer my e-mails. I've alse seen the ones that SpecOps sells (is it their blackwater brand, or something?), but those seem to not be Molle compatible, judging from teh backs of the vests they sell under that brand. Anyone have any ideas? -Chachi aka Wildcard 1MG |

| MCB Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Lexington, SC | Flurry sells nice 2 + 1 pod packs that can be mounted all sorts of ways and is what I used when I made my own vest. They sell them seperate and pretty cheap too. The only problem is they are not really Molle but could be easily modified to attach securely since the whole back side is the soft side of hook and loop [velcro If you have any skill at sewing I recommend you make your own. You can get a cheap "airsoft" vest of ebay for next to nothing. Rip off all of the pouches and start over from scratch and set up your rig for you and how you like it.

| MCB Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: The Nasti Natti | thanks for the tip! Those look great. Since a few people on my team would need them, and since our team camo is CADPAT, we'll probably have them copied by a firm up in canada that we get the majority of our cadpat gear from. When they get copied, they'll get setup proper for a molle install. Thanks! -Chachi aka Wildcard 1MG |
