Fogging up with a thermal mask

I have a Vents Avatar the ancestor to the E-VENTS and E-FLEX.

Its got a thermal lens but it still sometimes fogs up normally after 4 or 5 games im thinking of getting a second mask so I can switch them so they can dry out between uses but for now can you think of any DIY ways to reduce fog I know shaving cream and detergent are used on single pane lenses but I have heard they can damage thermal lenses is that true?

Also I heard some people spit on there lenses mainly scuba divers do this but it is supost to work well its disgusting but if it works if the choice is ether that or fog I guess I would do that.

Also do you think hair could increase your chance of fogging I have a glorious beard and im wondering if that might have any effect.

Also im thinking of wearing something on my head like a backward camo baseball cap type thing would that have any effect.

Anti-antiperspirant on forehead and cheeks works pretty good. It does suck if you sweat enough to get it in your eyes.

I wear a moisture absorbent headband under my sandana, you may need to switch them out at some point during play. I carry 3 but have only changed it once. I live in Nevada so It gets worm here and thats worked well for me

I do have this digital camouflage neck protector I never use its stretchy enough to comfortably fit on my forehead and because its between my head and the foam on my mask I can tighten the mask allot more without it being uncomfortable and it could maybe stop the foam from getting soaked in sweat any sweat will hopefully just go on the neck protector.

Here is a pic I found online.

Fogdoc works quite well. Give it a try, I don't think that you will regret it.

I would prefer free or cheap DIY options.

Define cheap. Because $5.99 for a small jar that can be used quite a bit doesn't seem to be that much money to me: Products Fogdoc - Your Prescription to Clarity - Antifog and Steam Removal

Cut a towel into strips and use as a headband. depending on thread count that should absorb a far amount of sweat. I'd still take a few extra and swap them out as needed

I have a form fitting ball cap that I wear backwards sometimes. It soaks up a good bit of sweat as well as protects my forehead.

spitting on the inside of your lens, spreading it around the rinsing away any excess is not a very good solution in my experience, both as a paintball player and as a snorkeler. it's what you do as a last resort; find a better solution.

i would've gotten some fogdoc the last time i ordered from ansgear, but i forgot.
