Help me break the group think! MagFed discussion.

I need some help breaking the group think that this discussion has created.

Calling all devils advocates, magfed enthusiasts, philosophers and general doo doo disturbers.

existential question about magfed

That discussion was doomed from the beginning since 'MagFed' has a plurality of definitions and purposes, just like 'stock class' or even 'paintball'. Hell we can't even agree whether paintball is a game or a sport.

What is it you hope to achieve by creating a discussion thread about a discussion thread? Not trying to be a jerk, just trying to understand the need for it...

Just trying direct traffic to the other discussion. Many people could offer valid arguments but may never venture into the magfed subsection

What need? we need air, shelter, food, and love. Maybe not even love. There is no need for anything else.

Can we just play paintball?

Too many people want to create narrow little niche groups in a sport that is more fun when it is inclusive, not exclusive.

Cool swag to promote your sport!

Honey badger don't care! Honey badger don't give a @#$%.

Shipped price is valid to domestic buyers and will be USPS priority. International buyers are welcome, but will cover additional costs. Insurance costs are included. If you prefer an uninsured package, you the buyer will assume all risk once I ship.

Haha okay my bad. You are correct my good sir. I was simply trying to understand what the OP is looking for. Whether or not Magfed paintball has a purpose? Only to entertain just like any other form of paintball. Or is the issue really that people think that magfed only games are too restricted and should allow more types of equipment? Well that just depends on the type of the event being organized. If you do not like the rules of an event, why change them if the organizer and the participants want the rules the way they are? That is the beauty of paintball. You can choose the games/fields/events you want to participate in! From the hardcore milsim magfed only games, the intense competitive tournaments, to the laid back fun recgames. If magfed or a role playing type of game is not for you great! It's not really for me either. I still have fun at those kind of events on the rare occasion that I get to play them. I just don't see the point in trying to change or modify someone else's event to fit your wants and preferences. It's all in good fun and I was not trying to offend

Some people find those narrow little niches more fun.

Agreed.

Because paintball is based off of a game, there should be different versions that are exclusive.

Think about it this way; why would someone play a full game of basketball over a simple game of Horse? It's just something different for a change for a challenge one way or the other depending on the people and circumstances. The rules for each version reflect skills and obstacles within it.

I'm always up for a challenge and if that means having a slightly different rig to do it, I'm game.

Now OP, I do think you might have gone a bit far saying you need a massive rig to play mag-fed. I would think pockets would be just fine, although not the most comfortable or reliable method. I haven't played a mag-fed game myself, but I've done just fine with a couple of 10 round tubes and 12g's in my pockets for pistol pump. A similar situation I think.

I have offered my opinions in a very interesting discussion over in the magfed section.
