That's why they're liquidating their old stock... New stuff. The old stuff sucks, no question, but the new stuff sounds like what you're describing, or similar.

Do you think it would a good opportunity for someone with no experience in cockers to take a "tutorial" at this price?

I'm stressing between a new RAP4 Tactical Ten vest, new N2 tank (current one has major issues, such as preset output of nearly 900 for no reason and it's going to need hydro in about 3 months), a few high end parts (regulators, barrels and boards) and now this.

As long as they buy a "true" AutoCocker, and not one of those "Trilogy" markers.

Sounds like a great idea... Learn something cheap! Hell, most places would charge you $25 just to adjust your timing and fix a leak. For twice that, you can now buy a whole cocker.

Yep, I agree that if you're getting one to learn and tinker with then stick with a Prostock or Superstock if you MUST go electro. But for just having a sort of nice cocker the Trilogys are not bad at all. And you can switch to a single finger frame....

There's a little deal with tuning the fire point to work with the fixed cocking point in the trigger travel but it's not a big deal at all.

If any of you have considered it then now is the time. They were blowing out the Black Magics a couple of months back and now I see that there's none left. These others are probably more numerous but when they are gone so are the deals. At that point the prices of cockers will start creeping back up. Not to the old time prices but these $65 ones will start trading for around $100 again I suspect.

Yeah, I would definately jump on them now. I've waited on stuff when there's like 1000's for sale, then the next thing you know thier all gone. I just picked up a Superstock body to make a mech for dirt cheap with everything but pneu's and a frame.

I don't see the "Trilogy" as any less of a cocker. Its still an autococking gun, with all the same parts. The difference is that some parts of one-piece.

Its a far better gun then the original autoococker.

Not that I would buy one, but its funny to see people bash a $48 gun, verses a $62 gun

Check e-bay too. Action Village still has quite a few ProStocks, I got a weekend buy at $55 (even though I really REALLY don't need another marker, can't beat a NIB loaner for the price or even leaving it in the closet collecting dust for 5 years until even these mass-run cockers become "rare"). Unfortunately they don't do free shipping from their ebay store, but if you catch a weekday auction at a weird time, you can probably snag one for ~$60 shipped. Then again, for a few bucks it's probably not worth the hassle of camping ebay.

Cockers don't have a nitch any more. They are going the way of dinosaurs. Why would a kid want a gun that can be a huge pain to take care of and doesn't really have better performance then a a-5.Bud Orr saw it coming, and he jumped at the right time. There just not practical guns any more.
