So I got a new red with gold splash ano 98 STO a few weeks back. It came "loosely assembled for my convieneince" which is fine. It's in really nice shape so the actual setup and timing is not a biggie for me.

So I get it all set up, fit a nicer timing rod, swap in a red Kapp 3way for the leaky chromed rimfire or center fire or whatever 3way is named after a bullet. Swap the Dye two finger swing for a nice new red ANS Quickfire slide and the world is good. Time it up and gas it and fine tune it and it's RIPPIN' REAL GUUD ! ! ! ! ! Life is wonderful.

So... I've got this new 22ci HPA tank that I'm looking forward to using but it's SOOOOO long that I need to use it with a small drop forward. So I make up one. A special one that's lighter than many since the tank has so much length that I'm worried about the idea of a fall on it breaking the regulator or splitting the neck. So I make the drop a little skinny so hopefully it'll break or bend first. Got it finished tonight about 15 minutes ago. Feels really nice. I hate the watermelon feel of the 68ci fiber bottles so the butt of the 22 tucks in real sweet and narrow like. So I go to gas it up and dry fire my way out of a tough spot taking out 12 of the other team in a bevy of smooth moves around the shop firing all the while (don't smirk, I know you all do this. There's a bit of Walter Mitty in all of us). But the damn valve is leaking down the barrel... BLOODY HELL! It wasnt' doing this two nights ago. And I'm looking at taking it out to play tomorrow since FINALLY it's stopped raining in biblical proportions around here! ! ! !

I guess I'll pull the valve out tomorrow morning..... $*#@)_)($&^%&)(@#$&%(*#@)_)(*&$)(^%@_)!)^%*#(@%^%% @)^% and furthermore ^#@(*@P:LS:OI&%)_@#*^%__)^A($*&_*

as per the usual 'why me?' question, i am forced to respond with the obligatory "because you touch yourself at night"

now, on to business...

Do what i did to mine, try to drown that valve in oil. get a nice, light oil, something like a 3-1 or sewing machine oil, apply 10-15 drops directly into the vert ASA, not through the reg. hold upside down or at an angle to make sure it doesn't flow down into the reg.

Dry fire 10-20 times

listen for leak.

if leak persists, rinse and repeat.
