I agree that this is a ridiculous and offensive video that shows our sport in a bad light. But I also don't think that censorship is necessarily the right way to go. Rather than reporting the video, we should all make comments to the effect that this behavior is foolish and unsafe, and by no means should be used as an example of how responsible paintball players behave. We need to explain why such behavior should not be condoned by the paintball community. To me, that seems much more reasonable and effective. That way we (the paintball community) won't come off as a bunch or reactionary whiney complainers, but rather a group of mature and thoughtful players who care about player safety and the perception of our sport to the public at large.
Granted, there will always be a selection of fools for whom this video is uproariously hilarious. I don't think we'll change their minds. This is the interwebs, after all... It would be the neutral observers, and parents of potential players for whom we would be making such comments. If those people see our thoughtful, measured, and mature reactions to such a video, then I think that will be more effective in marginalizing the stupidity shown on Youtube.
Also, the company who produced this needs to know that this video is unacceptable, especially for a company that sells paintball gear! Don't buy their stuff! Let's let them know that this silly video has cost them in lost sales! This seems like a much more reasonable approach than reporting and censoring.
To die for an idea; it is unquestionably noble. But how much nobler it would be if men died for ideas that were true?- H.L. Mencken
