Autococker detent alternatives

So I purchased an autococker about a year ago. I've had it in my closest since then and have aired it up every once and a while to shoot some paint through it but no field use because it doesn't have a detent. I noticed the original detents used a steel ball. Wouldn't a steel ball wear down the bolt pretty fast?
I looked on ebay and couldn't find any cheap alternatives to the steel? Does anybody know of a place that sells delrin detents or rubber ones, something that does chew away at the bolt?

Off the top of my head, I can't remember if CP detents use a delrin ball or not - they might. I had one, but managed to shoot out the ball within a day or two of play. Someone will have to chime in with other aftermarket options.

Your other option is a different bolt - many aftermarket ones have a detent groove milled in.

I wouldn't be terribly concerned about the bolt wear, unless you're privy to keeping it spotless for a certain reason.

AKALMP had a design which used the same flat detent as the '04 Viking, built into a screw-in, they may be for sale soon? There's also the readily available Kila magnetic detent (threads in, delrin flat detent) and the more rare Eclipse Fangz (threads in, rubber finger detent). CP is similar to the standard autococker detent, but features a delrin ball.

there have been several delin options over the years, my personal favorite was macdev, the 04-06 cyborg detent is actually a cocker detent in disguise

A stainless steel style ball detent does wear the bolt down a bit, but not a ton.

That's the stock bolt on my Trilogy that I bought used in 2008. It's been my primary shooter since then; granted it hasn't seen 50+ cases or anything. Either way, it really doesn't wear that much. It would probably be cheaper to get a new bolt with a slot milled for the detent than to get a new detent anyway.

PS; sorry bout the crappy picture quality; my point-n-shoot's battery is dead, so I had to use my phone

Do you even need a detent if you're underboring?

What about the checkit products detent. Still can be found new and it comes with a stainless ball and delrin ball, is also rebuildable.
