cuisinart 4oz co2...

Anyone have one of the Cuisinart soda makers? They run off a 4oz co2 bottle with a quick connect valve, I'm wondering if I can swap it with a regular bottle valve or an on/off. They're everywhere for $20 and they come in silver... which is why I want one.

I don't have the answer but that is an interesting idea. Also how do they fill the bottles?

One came into the shop today. I'm pretty sure you can swap with a regular pin valve

Wow, first time I've seen that... and I get co2 fills for like $2-3 anyway, so what's the point?

I can't imagine that being an efficient way of filling a CO2 tank. The hassle alone is well worth the few dollars of just having a tank refilled. But maybe they do not have access to CO2 where they are located. I see 3.5 and 4oz for sale on these forums often at $20 shipped and you wouldn't have to bother changing out the valve, although they are usually not silver in color.

On a side note, don't carbonate milk.

It's freaking weird as hell to drink, but that's not the problem. Ever blow bubbles in your milk when you were a kid (or now still) well imagine that times a billion when you release the pressure after carbonating.

If they are the same as soda stream ones, yes. My local shop does conversions on soda stream bottles.

Becasuse the soda stream is a "proprietary" valve, can't just go out to your local place and get it filled (I have an adapter that lets me use standard 20oz co2 tanks, they last forever)

I was about to put my 2 cents in about that dry ice video but then took them back.
