Prototype Spyder?

Stumbled upon this today while browsing eBay. The name is what struck me at first, as Action Village listed it as a "Spyder E77" which to my knowledge, doesn't exist. Turns out kingman owns that name as a trademark, and the gun certainly says E77 on it, but I cant find ANY info on it anywhere! Nor have I ever seen one before.

It appears to just be a Spyder Esprit with a 12in barrel as opposed to a 9in. Maybe this was going to coincide with the release of the E99?

Yeah I agree lol. AV is dumping a rather large number of brand new old spyders on eBay right now, but the prices aren't great.

yeah that's another. Maybe Kingman was going to rebadge the whole line (Esprit, and Imagine) but decided against it at the last second after producing a couple guns?

Fascinating.
If this site is correct, Kingman filed for trademarks on a lot of words and phrases they never used, like "Black Ace", "XR-E", and "KT-100"

Looking at these guns, they appear to have plastic grip frames.
Did Kingman ever release any E-frames made out of plastic or were they all milled/cast aluminum?

I noticed the odd frame screw holes but not the plastic part...

They had some plastic e-frames. I got one in a box-o-junk a few years ago. I wasn't impressed with the idea (I'm not a fan of plastic), and part of it was cracked (can't remember where). Also, I don't think they're molded in those colors. The silver that was on the one I had was wearing off.

The blue one looks to have casting marks on it, or it could just be metallic paint and my eyes are that bad.

I could always use another esprit, just for nostalgia reasons of course. But, these would look great as spimmys, confuse the heck out of everyone.
