wholesale is more than double the $80 listed in that auction, but I can't say specificly in an open forum.

If that's true, then with the new retail (what, $179?) dealers are making about $10? After you factor in handling and such, it's a loss. I bet dealers love carrying these little gems.

Oh, on topic, I've wondered how the scam works too, and assume it's a pyramid. Maybe we should all pitch in and "buy" a link.

It's not unusual for dealers to make under $40 on the sale of some guns. But, sell a gun to someone, and they must buy a hopper, then a mask, then the nifty gear to carry the pods and a tank, then the tank itself. It's about the peripherals more than the gun itself.

Almost every retail business works this way. Music stores make very little(less than 10%) on big ticket items like guitars and amps, but make almost 50% of the price of strings, straps, picks and the like. And its this same reasoning behind the fact that microsoft has taken a loss on almost every x-box they've ever sold.They make they're money on the software.
