First game & elimination with PGP

Played some paintball this weekend, mostly used my m98 as I've been tinkering and I wanted to see how it did.

We played on a hyperball field and Magmoormaster suggested I try my PGP there. I was skeptical, but I pulled it out and aired it up.

I have been playing limited paint with my 98 for over a year (cram n jam 10 round tubes) but I had never ventured to play with a pump, much less a stock class pump, much less the PGP, against other players armed with faster markers.

Off the break I made it to a standing tube on the left side of the field and started trading shots with a guy in the back left corner. About 5 rounds into our exchange he called himself out, I moved, and got eliminated myself. I later found out that I gogged him!

So that was my first game and elimination with my PGP.

Next game didn't go so well, I was hit off the break headed to middle bunker, and in my haste to get off the field, I tripped and almost faceplanted, but managed to turn it into a pretty sweet roll that ended up with me on my feet though my pgp took a ride in the sand.

I was kind of afraid to pull out the little pump in the face of so many electronic markers and mech semis. My 98 has been a transitional marker.

Turns out pump - even with a humble, entirely stock, PGP - can be pretty dang fun, even against players with more firepower.

Next time I play, I might leave the 98 in the gear bag a little more often.

Very cool! Never have been much of a pgp player myself. But I have been using a Phantom vsc for about 17 years now against whatever else is out there. Some days go better than others. Glad you had a good experience your first time. Keep it up.

I enjoy using my old brass markers more and more. When I first started playing with the outlaw group I'm in it was "who's the old fart with the ancient pistol"? Now that I've played with them a few times they have put a bounty on me. There isn't anything more satisfying than eliminating someone carrying the latest space gun that's throwing ropes at everybody with one well placed shot.

I used to list all of my current, previous, and future markers. Now I'd be concerned about a character limit

if you think getting eliminations with a pgp is fun, you should try singleshot.

One day I want to own enough PGPs or splatmasters to outfit everyone at a game and have everyone armed with nothing more than a stock class pump, a few 12 grams, and a handful of 10 round tubes.

I bet everyone would have a blast.

The funny thing is that I was only being half serious when I said you should pull out the PGP!! Haha. Glad I was able to instigate some good SC fun.

Overall, it was one of the most enjoyable times I've had playing paintball all year. I was playing with my Avratech Falcon for the first time and having a blast.

And dude, we totally should stockpile a bunch of Splatmasters and PGP's!! IDK where we'd get enough 10 round tubes though... :P Could probably throw in some Nelspots as well.
