Cause he got paid.... same reason that the game with his name has wiping and other cheat methods... cause he got money for the use of his name and persona.

Not that I condone it but from a marketing point of view it's a waste of money to pay for his name and face if no one sees his face. Deffinately could have been done with more thought though

I'm certain it was a safe environment for him to take his mask off in, but to give the impression that you can take your mask off on the field in the middle of a game, especially when it is a field doing this, is just asking for a liability suit.

They could have easily used his face and name at some other point in the commercial and had the desired impact.
