An autophantom using cocker parts

Hey,

I'm sure somebody here would know how to do this. I"m not too interested because i like my phantom the way it is but if i ever got a second one i would certainly contemplate making it semi-auto. I've heard of the AutoNelson kits, but I was wondering if anyone has or thereotically could use commonly available autococker parts and make a phantom semi auto. Also how much would a cheap conversion likely cost used and/or new parts?

Are you asking how much it would cost if you did it yourself, or if you had a machinist do it?

Punisher once made one I think.

Autophantoms have some valve problems though as it can't keep up with the semi auto speeds. Or atleast that's what I heard.

Yeah, the phantom or I guess most nelson based gun aren't very good semi-auto platforms as they max out at 7-8bps. Palmer used to offer custom semi-auto conversions for nelson based gun called ''Tornados''? I think Lori still has one. Punisher did make a semi-auto phantom that was even electro!, he was working on a version 2.0 but I guess even he gave up on the designs inherent shortcomings.

My suggestion if you really want a semi nelson based marker, check out ATS and their line.

Yeah, semi-auto doesn't jive too well with the Nelson design. However, PA (pneumatic assist) does! Basically, the pump handle actuates a 3-way (or is it 4-way?) valve which in turn operates the ram which moves the bolt. Timing is a non-issue. Sure, you still need to move the pump handle, but imagine a 1/4" (or less), nearly effortless pump stroke! For some excellent examples, go to Doc's Gallery

A quarter inch? Bah! I did that on my PA Spyder, and the stroke is only an eighth, with plenty of extra slop so I don't have to be so careful about bumping it.

I imagine it could get even better with, say, a Belsales 4-way on it.
