| MCB Member | This will help even less. I own both a Palmerized S6 and a LF Prye. Both are wicked nice pumps to use. Both have nice trigger frames. Both come with nice regulators. Both need barrels right off the get go (Sorry .690 doesn't work anymore in the land of midget paintballs). Which do I prefer? I can't ever choose, but if I could only have one, I would say the Prye only on the fact that it seems to like cold weather compared to the S6. The AT is nicer on the Prye; hardly notice it compared to the S6 which feels kinda poopy in my mind. I've had my Prye going 8 BPS over the chrono... Somethings got to be wrong because I could only hit 7 with my Blazer The S6 has a nicer feedneck I'll admit. Still wish it was a thumbscrew instead of a allen key. Slightly (and I mean ever so slightly) better pump stroke than the Prye, but that is up the eye of the beholder. Custormer service is great for both. Haven't had to tear down the Prye yet, but I've down my S6 and it's easy as pie to do if you've got the tooling. Series 6 is a much better looking marker. The Prye is by no means ugly though; looks much better in person. Don't try and pick between just one of them. Buy them both. (Damm PPS BTW... I ordered my S6 and all the fixings from PPS... like 3 days later the Prye comes out from under the radar... Expensive week

| Sam, I got the Pyre up and running, it was the cupseal. We plan on going to Boneyard on Weds to play around 3pm till about 7. Come out and play with the Pyre yourself so that you can make a better informed decision. We're bringing pumps and electros this time. As you know I really like the CCM markers, but this Pyre is super smooth and the auto-trigger is way fasy. Shoots very straight with GAP paint that is only 42bucks with tax from Westside Pball. Boneyard is the only field that requires field paint, but I have heard they have good paint at around 45 per case. Anyhow, Let's touch base on Tues and let me know if you can go. Brian ![]()

| Seasoned Member | I dont get it, you wanna go toe to toe against electros with a pump but wont use quality paint? I mean whats the point if your balls don't fly where you want them to, then it really doesn't matter which pump you use. If you need a faster pump then I dont see why you need pump to begin with! it's not like you can gunbattle with electros using pump. Another thing you said about efficiency. Is that a real concern as you claimed to have only shot 400 balls the whole day? Have you heard of any cocker getting only 500 shots out of a properly filled 20 oz? Why would the S6 be any different, it's a cocker. Buying a more expensive pump doesn't mean it will make you more competitive.

| Seasoned Member | I've never seen/shot/held a Pyre. The CCM S6 I have seen/shot/held are very, very nice. I say fix the paint problem and get a sweet r/f Marker. Jay

| You can't go wrong with either gun, most likely. I think your gas concerns about the S6 are off the mark though. It seems fairly common to use 13ci tanks on S6es and that means their efficiency is decent.

| The gas thing seems to be a real phenominon, at least with the snipers I have noticed with CCM internals. A 20oz seriously doesnt make it through a day of pump rec play. I've run out of gas with my CCM'ed 97 boston twister, stickyskunk has run out of gas on his CCM'ed krusher, and another local friend has run out of gas with his CCM'ed Freeflow, all prematurely (~500 shots), co2 fills were from different locations, and the freeflow was running HPA from a tank who's size I was unsure of. My distrust for CCM efficiencty has a very real root. I have never put a tank through a S-6 or any other CCM factory tuned gun, but I cant imagine it being a whole lot better. |

| Markers that are sprung lightly are less efficent... I have yet to do an efficiency test on my Pyre, or to tell you the truth, my S6. I noticed that my S6 was considerably better than my factory S5 (before I palmerized it). If efficiency is your main concern, you can certainly add a stiffer valve and hammer spring to either marker. If a buttery-smooth pump stroke is your main concern, either stock will do! Now don't get me wrong, it's not like they give gas away, and I did notice that my Pyre was pretty efficient, but I can't give any real numbers right now. If you want a left-feed or right-feed then the S6 is out of the question, the S5 however is not. Either way you win bud, enjoy shooting ropes, or plinking with whichever you decide.

| i have a really good suggestion, stop shooting spank!!! i get the impression its from the same supplier that provided paint to tektonics, there is a reason why that paint took out someones eye after BOUNCING OFF THE FLOOR!!!!!!!!!!! i feel your situation, i really do, but given a choice between what you have, and something new... save the extra $600 and use it to cover the entry fees for bringing your own paint... or tell whoever is in charge of the paint situation to pick up a few cases of paint that isnt $5 a box wholesale.. its that cheap for a reason i know that didnt help much Tracker |
