Intelli frame

I'm about to buy a fellow MCBers intelli frame, but first i need to know, is their a difference between ones that fit RTs and ones that fit classics or is it just the newer RTs that are differant? This page made me think they may differ.

There is one exception, the original RT. That's the odd ball.

The only real difference on the frames is the size of the rear hole for the original RT's,it was bigger so allow for the banjo thumbscrew

The original R/T valve is smaller than the Retro Valve and can only be used for the R/T Classic.A good way to tell it the original style has no air port anywhere on the back unlike the standard mag style valve

All ReTro valves are rail blind... i.e. you can put them on anything BUT an RT classic rail. So if you have a MiniMag, a Classic 68, an RT pro, or a ULT rail and body it will fit just fine.

The ReTro valve was made after the RT hit the market. It uses the same technology and parts as the RT, but was built to fit all the prior frames (hence the name, "ReTro" as a cute play on words for "retrofit" and "RT")

So, the short answer to the long post is... Yup. It will fit just fine.

Well, retro in it's basic definition means "back," so I thought they were always reffering to the way it reactivates the trigger assembly by pushing it "back."

I don't think it stands for retrofitting. Otherwise, they probably wouldn't have made a push from Classic rails to RT rails, even though the only real difference is the length and the way they attached a vert. ASA.

I thought that "R/T" stood for Reative Trigger and that ReTro valve meant that you could upgrade (retro-fit) your Mag to Reactive Trigger.

What do I know?

I have an old magazine ad which calls it a "Reactive" Trigger.

Don't cofuse R/T and ReTro as the same marketing push.

R/T was the reactive trigger and a step forward in technologically from the 68 Classic valve. However, it could not be used with any other Mag rail or body.

The ReTro valve was the drop in replacement for classic 68 valves to allow them to be retrofitted to the RT technology, so the capital "R" and "T" from R/T are a part of ReTro for the cool little pun.
