ICD Freestyle?

I think I just managed to pickup a Freestyle off Ebay for $100. The description was vague, but showed a picture of a Freestyle. I asked if the picture was of the actual gun being sold and the seller said yes, so I took a gamble. It hasnt come in yet, so i dont know if it actually is one. If it isnt I just give it to my nephew. Anybody use one? Any good? I just started getting into electros, after many long years of saying I would never buy one.

Wow! Sweet deal I've heard them described as an 'electro Desert Fox' but I suppose that description could fit the late-model Shockers and Ions as well.

Do you have the link to the original auction?

I should have it around here somewhere. If I recal correctly Zap was supposed to release a marker that was a knockoff of the Freestyle which never hit the shelves. Instead they released a electro STBB under the same name. I believe the picture used in the auction was the picture Zap released for the Freestyle knockoff. So I took a gamble with it. It has not come in yet, but as soon as it does I will update with pics/info.
AS far as the Freestyle system, it is basically a Automag blow forward design using LP to push and hold the bolt rearwards. I am not sure how the foxes work, but i think it is very similar to a Automag.
Keeping fingers crossed on this one.
here is a animation of the Freestyle(pbn thread)

Here it is on Zaps sight its says its the ZXS1000E

You hit it right on the head, blowforward using air to push back. It basically is an E-Fox (which is basically a Mag... but with a slightly worse reg)

Well after a little searching, I found that Zap did release the ZXS1000E(in several different forms), and can be had for $100.
If this is indeed a knockoff of the Freestyle, how come it cost a mere $100? It cant be that bad of a knockoff can it? I guess I will find out.
My brother told me he thinks he saw the same gun for sale at Dick's Sporting goods.

I am now thinking I goofed. I guess I will see how well it shoots.

Ok yeah, just like a Fox.

I'd be interested in the Zap version as well, if they work as well as the ICD version. I'll check on PB Review and see if they're reviewed there.

The review on pbreview.com is a little vague. My understanding there were several different models of the ZXS1000E, one of which was a electro stbb.

The funny thing is that I actually looked for this particular gun, but never found it. I gave up and started looking at the ZXS600E. While searching for a e-frame for my nephew I found it.
I will defintily do a small review w/pics, but I do not have a Freestyle to compare it to.
I wonder what barrel threads it has.

edit:
Well I just found this:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1
Apperantly, it is a STBB in a Freestle look-alike body. It also appears to take Spyder threads.

I am NOT a fan of the Freestyle's. They are air hogs (big time) accuracy is mediocre, and they require alot of maintenance. ICD has very loose tolerances for manufacturing and it shows. But hey are fast after you work the bugs out! Many of my friends use Freestyles because they are the factory team. They change markers between almost every game. A couple of them went to the Promasters because they are more reliable.

However, for $100 if you get one. Sweet. It's hard to go wrong with a $100 Freestyle. At least if you don't like it you can make some money out of it. And if it's the Zap gun, no big deal. Maybe they are a good fun little shooter!
Let us know if it is and how it shoots.

I too was interested in them when I first saw them online, I liked the idea of a cheap Freestyle.
I found them at WalMart a few moths back and they are a stbb.

Bummer. I have a feeling I am going to be sending it back. The picture in the auction does not show a STBB.
