Buzzard Barrel? double feed?

I am looking for a few more than the two control bores that came with my buzzard. I am wondering what everyone is using? I have had a few breaks due to double feeding and I am looking to see what I can do about that.

I know they are cocker threaded but I am not sure what barrels will fit the pump handle and will be as smooth as possible.

I am wondering if phantom detent rings will help with double feeding or just get in the way.

let me know what you think.

The barrel has to be beveled to fit properly. I believe the Carter Machine backs fit the stock two piece barrel.

I have the two piece barrel with it and the two backs but I am looking for more options the barrel was either too loose on the paint or to small. I am looking to see what everyone has used.

I'm sorry.. I didn't mean Carter Machine. I meant Sanchez Machine. You could buy a few more backs for it to help your bore sizing troubles.

Double feed on a Nelson valved gun are operator error, practice more. Rollouts are a different story a little nail polish in the barrel does the trick.

so a Sanches machine barrel backs are the same as the carters?

The backs that I have have the nail polish "detents" but it doesn't stop paint from pinching and sometimes double feeding. for a $600 pump you should be able to pick it up and play with little practice.

How well do the karner barrels fit in the pump handle? any play in it?

There is no barrel that can keep you from double feeding your gun.

When you cock your nelson gun do it in one motion that is timed at the rate the ball falls. Dont hold the pump handle back and let two balls feed, and dont jam it forward too fast and cut the ball in half.

It doesnt matter what barrel is on the gun, that is going to happen unless you learn how to play with it.

As said above - roll outs are a different story.

You just need to get the rythm of the gun. There are no ball detents. I learned how to use my grey spirit after I broke a ball at the chronograph the first day I used it.

But maybe i dont understand the problem.

Part of it may be my fault I will admit that. I am new to the whole stock class thing.

my phantom with a direct feed never had a problem with double feeding or pinching paint when I used the detent rings. Part of what is happening is I feel that the chamber is too large and is letting one and 1/2 balls into the chamber before I can complete the pump stroke. thus pinching the ball. not to the point of breaking the paint but I still need to tip the gun over and re-open the breach to clear the jam. I am playing speedball with it and am looking to get this working as flawless as possible.

if all I can do is practice with it and nothing else can be done mechanicaly then so be it and I will just practice with it. but it seems silly that there would be nothing to keep the pinching and double feeds from happening.

What are palmer wigits?
