I'm convinced it's due to the BBs appearing in strange places aspect.

I think it's because no female in her right mind wants to hang around playing guns with a bunch of boys.

That's true...
At least paintball guns can have neat patterns on them and make cooler noises.

Then again, I don't think I've been in my right mind for quite a many years either.

Reminds me of a girl I play with, Mae the "Pink Punisher".

Sweet girl and great cook but when she play she goes crazy.
Kinda like Sandy in "The-Whiteboard"

Airsoft is where paintballers go to die.

A friend and I were clearing out after a long day at PnL paintball in bridgewater, And Near to the last few games, I noticed more people were showing up, and since I had seen a guy earlier with a RAP4, I just dismissed it.

But then after the last game, SWARMS of airsofters started showing up, in matching Special ops uniforms, With enough firepower, were it real steel, to take over a small nation. Perhaps Paintball nation. Who knows.

After that, I have a hard time taking hardcore airsofters as anything more than DnD LARPers, that traded in the wizard robe, hat, and staff for some MOLLE gear, Omnipat, And a japaneese Automatic pea-shooter.

My friend and I went to our first airsoft big game a while back. Now, as paintballers, and occaisional airsoft backyard players, all I have to say is: "Paintball is Fun. Airsoft is Not Fun." As mentioned, even the most experienced players were stunned, impressed and outraged by our "paintballesque" charges, flanking and, well, bunkering techniques. I had gone with anticipation of a fun, laid-back experience.

I was wrong.

Airsoft is mil-sim at its most hard-core. From the organizations of "squads" to "weapon" characteristics, etc. If it doesn't occur in real war, it shouldn't be seen at an airsoft field. The group we played with are all memebers of an airsoft forum local to Texans. They were all cammo'd out, but since I wasn't as avid an airsofter as them, I simply wore a black T-shirt, khaki cargo pants, a balaclava and a tactical vest. The thing was, it was supposed to be terrorists v. marines (CS, anyone???), and I looked more like a terrorist out there, so I was the only one holding true to the mil-sim aspect! Anyway, they didn't think so. I was actually told on the forum after the event I wouldn't be allowed to attend an event without full BDU cammo.

I've officially washed my hands of airsoft.
