thats what my brother and I use it for.. Its hard to get someone to play 1v1 with you when it actually hurts, and you are generally not the one that gets hit most often..

but with airsoft, my brother and I have played together countless time, both of us enjoying it, and him improving immensly

He's gone from the kid who shoots his team in the back on accident.. to a front guy snappin and doing awesome.

He still doesn't want to get shot with paint though.. so lol.

now, i'll be the first to say that there are those that have fallen off the path and could believe or do dress up and blur the image of reality and fantasy, but can't you say that for Trekkies or Star Wars fans? i can't tell you how many vehicles i've seen(maybe it was one as they get around at warp speed )with "StarFleet Academy" stickers in the back window. are they any better, or what? or what about the people that attend Origins, or ComicCons? hey if you want to take on a nation(albeit some fastly overweight and most with barely any athletic abilities) go right ahead, but like i said, you might want to check yourself with that statement.
Easy now... he's not lumping all gamers into one big lot and berating them. I'm a card carrying geek with a tattoo of a Displacer Beast who does deify Gary Gygax and I wasn't offended. I'm sure he's referring to the small minority of LARPers who go over the top and don't realize how silly they can appear, such as the famous "LIGHTNING BOLT! LIGHTNING BOLT!" video.

Admit it, even you rolled your eyes at that one...

^^^ YouTubed and lol'd.

There's a place for everything though. I want to try "hardcore LARPing," also read as "medieval reenactments." The one's where everyone is dressed in full armor and actually beating the crap out of each other with swords!

oh, i am calm about it, that's why i'm asking him to check himself in a polite and easy way. i can and will fly off the handle at the drop of a hat.

but actually, the afore mentioned "lightning bolt" video, have never seen it, as i'm on dial up(50K when i'm real lucky + a slow acting comp) and video's don't work real well when you have a 10 minute wait on a dial-up line for a 3 minute vid. but i don't have to see it to know what its about. i've seen plenty of the "dwellers" that have lived it, or have blurred the lines of reality. can't say that i'm scared, but it is scary in a way that someone could get so detached that they are better off in their own world sometimes.

Try Kendo, It has armor, swords and stylized fighting. Plus it is an awesome workout.

I just watched the lightning bolt video for the first time. I know that guy. That was filmed in Mass.

Always wanted to do that. There was a class in the opposing gym that started halfway through our aikido class on Wednesday night. Several of the kendo students would come to aikido for 45 mins to warm-up then politely bow-out to go over to kendo. It always looked interesting to me but I never got around to giving it a try before a stalled out on martial arts.
