| I have played airsoft a few times, I actually do own a 9mm. Every time I have gone, there is at least couple of really HOT chicks that are with the dorkies geeks i have ever seen. and im like what and how the F**K that happen. Far as airsoft vs Paintball. I had fun playing airsoft, but yeah still id say paintballers would kick their *** out there. Yep pain wise paintball hurst LOTS more and leaves the welts longer. At worse airsoft bruise will be gone in like two days. Paintball i have had them around 4-6 wks. I remember the first time I showed up to play airsoft. I showed up in cleats, jeans and a tank top. Everyone else in their full camo or swat looked at me like i was crazy. It was a small place where we were playing, it started out as a 5 on 5 when we first got there. Then couple of other groups showed up and it turned to a 10 on 10. Good size of a battle for the size of the field we were on. You should have seen those guys, the are all putting on all their gear, some guys with like guns that youd see mounted on jeeps. well looking at everyone with their gears, extra guns, mags and everything strapped to them. I am thinking man I am going to get killed and lit up in no time, be first one out. the first game of the 10 on 10, I ended up taking out 6 of their players out. three of them by making them surrender. then the second game took out 5, i was never taken out in those games. everyone looked at me like im nuts running, diving into bunkers and running at the guys shooting at me. Still airsoft is fun, but those guys for sure dont or cant move cuz of all their gear so you would so own most of them. well thats my 2 cents on airsoft or more, sorry it got so long. Joker |

| You guys are essentially walking into the equivalent of a civil war reenactment or renaissance fair...you don't expect to get weird looks for dressing like a paintballer? Paintball equipment is much less gun-like, sure...but I'd have to disagree on the statement as a whole. DMs, Egos etc are hideous ray guns. They look like nerf, but milled from aluminum. And how about those tanks...

| Yeah, but so do a bunch of paintballers. Only ours are actually fun and useful. Anyways. I played an airsoft game once. I was told 'Come out, it's the beginner weekend, we're going to be casual.' Oh, good, I thought, they won't go apes**t on me for showing up in cargo pants and a t-shirt. Well, casual for them turned out to be full camo, but without all their extra gear and stuff. I'm not going to criticize them for having their role-playing thing. I enjoy a good tabletop RPG, I've played RPGs until my eyes bled, I play tabletop wargames and joined a local SCA group. It's just not my thing. But, DAMN, these people were INTENSE. The game itself...OK, I'll admit, it was fun. Not as fun as paintball, but I'd go back if they weren't so hard-core. But that was the problem: the ARE hardcore. I mean, I'm not going to go on about pure practicality in terms of gear. I'm mounting a pair of speakers to my vest, probably buying a dual-AT-10 rig and put as many guns as I can in wood stocks. But these guys were...well, like you've all said, they looked loaded for bear. And were giving me crap for not. So, not gonna bash the sport, just not my thing. |

| yes they do, every single guy i saw had a Kbar looking one. but they were either rubber or some sort of hard metal but straight block edges no points. youd have easier time cutting something with a spoon. Yeah some of these guys take themselves waaay to serious, with all the camo or swat dress up. and all the extra little things that they hang or put into the vest pockets. damn takes them about 20 minutes just to play dress up. It was cool to play, most of the guys that did play were pretty cool guys. but man they are little serious and some are very cocky, when they actually dont have a reason to be. I mean these guys look like they have never done anything physical in their lifes, let alone get into some sort of real fight. And they walk around with their gear, camo and everything else like they are actual Navy Seal or something. hahahahahhaha Just funny watching some of them and then owning them the next second. |
