| I just watched the intro and the closer, still didn't see the middle. I liked both of them so far, really keen to see the actual test. Why did I watch the closer before the actual test? I couldn't find the test on youtube... And I like reading the end of books first because it makes me feel like I predicted the book. Same sort of thing with videos. |

| I'm going to assume this is where we have a.. thoughtful discussion of the matter.. and I'm not really going to bring these couple suggestions to the table as FACT, but rather, just a couple things maybe to think about, inspire a little more discussion. As for me and my credentials, I'm studying to be a mechanical engineer, and I think I can safely say that I have learned my basic physics. What I will say here does not go against what I've learned (unless i've forgotten something), but rather MIGHT exist under CERTAIN conditions. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong. First, I bring to the table: Hop-Up. Anybody who's even scratched the surface of airsoft will know exactly what I'm talking about. For the paintball purists, imagine the Apex barrel system's workings (a small, high friction piece of area that puts enough backspin on the ball for lift), at the BREECH of the barrel, instead of the business end. Its very effective in airsoft, giving you VERY straight projectile paths for distances comparable to paintball (with much higher fps of course). I believe the hop-up system proves that its possible for you to apply the backspin anywhere along the barrel length, and have the projectile retain the backspin throughout its trip through the barrel. For a 6mm .2gram SOLID piece of plastic at least. I know paintballs are a whole different matter that others here can discuss better than I. How does this apply to the current argument? Maybe that gun was made with the barrel slightly off center from the breech of the gun. Not enough to break balls, but maybe enough to create backspin? Or maybe the barrel of the gun, or maybe the inner walls of the gun, were high friction enough to create this "hop-up" effect? As in the hop-up/apex system, theres a very small amount of area needed to create backspin. Second, I'd like to suggest maybe clamping down the gun is NOT necessary for this argument. While eliminating variables is definitely the main goal when trying to find out certain things, perhaps in this situation, including everything we CAN in the SYSTEM might provide a clue as to why whatever effect is being claimed can happen. Personally, I'd still clamp it down. But would NOT clamping down the gun help replicate the effect? Even though at this point, I think trying further is useless. Wow thats about it I guess. Ruzzah!
