Hurtcow is definitely right. If a person destroys machinery in california it is because the machinery is a piece of junk. Just like if someone gets shot it is the guns fault.

I'm afraid you're right. I heard on NPR recently that a lady's suing the manufacturer of an aluminum baseball bat, along with the store that sold it, and the little league her precious snowflake plays on, after he got hit in the head by a baseball.

Wow, let's get this back on topic.

I wonder how much torque it took to twist the gripframe that badly? It's a good thing the macroline didn't get yanked out.

Abalma? Sounds like the name of a guy that'd work at the quickie mart.

It probably just took that guy 1 bad dive barrel first to do it. Those things are pretty thin. I think they are made of some funky cast aluminum too.

OK, I know folks here aren't much into the Agg electro's but Eclipse makes some great stuff. They do mill their frames super thin and strength is compromised but they are designed to bend to absorb the impact and retain the ASA and tank so you don't have any unguided missles from a bad dive. Would you rather have the gun stay solid and break the bottle reg off at the neck or have the frame bend and absorb the energy? There are plenty of pictures of Dye Ultralight and regular Shocker frames that look just as bad or worse.

Here's the difference though: If you do that to an Ego, Planet Eclipse will give you a new frame, new board and a new any other part you destroyed in the dive for free. Try that with a Dye or SP gun and ask for new parts for free and you'll still be hearing the shrieks of laughter after you hang up the phone.

Planet Eclipse charges a lot for their guns but they take really good care of the folks who use them.

That's a good point that I didn't think of. The frame is the sacrificial junction, just like plastic hopper elbows.

I wasnt saying they are aweful. Just thin. I have also heard that they will replace them and ive seen all of the bent shocker and dye frames.

I was just speculating that the frames may be made from some kind of casting just like the bodies.

Not bad guns, just not guns for me. I used couple of friends eteks. Love their light weight and they just work well. Not a single complaint.

Though I honestly doubt that they designed the frame as a weak point for dives like that. It is just a fortunate side effect of a maximum lightweight frame.
