So i am bored, and after searching for a way to put a barrel sleeve over my barrel so that the milling seem to flow from the body to the barrel:

I was thinking

What if i get an ion body, and slip it over the barrel as a sleeve, set it with set pin and that's all?

It seem like ion body are cheap and readily available, should i? Any one have idea if this will fit over a standard barrel?

If you're using a metal body you'll have to line it or coat it with something to keep it from scratching the heck out of your barrel. What do you plan to do with it when you take it off the gun? I stuff my barrel covers in my pocket and don't have to think about them until I need them but an Ion body would be a bit troublesome especially if you landed on it.

sorry, let me clarify

I would like to put the ion body over the barrel as a sleeve ( not as a barrel cover).

More of something like this:

But with a silver barel and a shorter barrel too
