Partly because I can't figure out the trigger walking thing, but mostly because if you actually try to hit what you're shooting at you really don't have to. I shoot my electro with one finger, one pull, one ball and usually one kill... It's just fun to know that the gun can go FAST!

Sure my promaster can do 15 a second all day long but it doesn't accomplish anything. I think part of my self control comes from the fact I don't own a pod pack - I run outta paint I either have to go back to the staging area and wait or just hang around and call out positions. The last time I went was actually a school trip and I brought my entire setup including clothing, I went through about 250 paintballs in two and a half hours while playing every game. I try and stay away from speedball, the adrenalin tend to increase my paint consumption by about half. It's handy to have some reusable balls to keep your trigger fingers happy on the cheap. ~Penguin |

I Like semi because i like to have that control over my bps, I can easily keep my bps in check, plus ive checked my walking speed and I dont need psp 13.3 ramp, I can walk 12ish so theres really No point.

Everything you said is 100% right. And the odd couple of times I've played with an electro I used it as though it WAS a mechanical. But for me part of the fun is feeling the trigger action of the mechanical release of the sear or the pneumatic kick back of the Automag. The electro's "mouse click" like feel just doesn't do it for me. Also the lack of single finger trigger frames for electro guns outside of the mil sim field of things. I've tried some double trigger frames and I almost always end up with my hand snaking down the grip and using it with one finger. If there were issues with shooting the mechanicals I'd probably try an electro again. But I've got so many nice to use mechanicals that I've decided to go Paintball Vegan and say NO to batteries. Hmmmmm..... I may have to eat my vegetarian words on that. I like my red dot sights and the ones I have are the look through style that use the coin sized battery......

Be it a talon or a 30 bps "rope slinger". I occasionally drag out a Tribal or a nice mech when I'm in the mood. The majority of the time I just play with a pump. I don't hate electros and can certainly maintain self control. To me, it's more of setting an example and playing the sport like I like to see it played. Most of all, after seeing year after year of overshooting, related fights, and the general distaste that leaves, it's nice to make it obvious that you're not part of that crowd.

| I sofaking retodd id Join Date: Nov 2007 Location: Oshawa, Canada | The outlaw field I play has a good mix of ages. Right from 45 - 16 year olds. But everyone of them out there can at least 10 bps. Now I chose to play with them so I will never complain to them about being hit 3-4 times in an elimination. I mean by the time you say you are hit theres 5-6 balls in the air. I have a pretty good idea why they all shoot a-5's with response triggers or whatever, one guy starts and the rest follow to keep pace. So instead of roughing it out till they get their skills up where they could beat guys with a pump or at worse a mech semi they go the easy route and go electric. Anything wrong with that? No not really, but when they all complain how much money they spend you have to laugh when you tell them one 9 oz tank and a bag of 500 balls for a day and I still go home with some leftover. |

| Active Member Join Date: Apr 2006 | "I agree with the original poster in that is entirely possible to play with an electro and limit your paint use/shots taken. But what's the point of owning the screaming electro? I briefly had an old Shoebox Shocker Turbo. Great gun, lots of fun. One of the first things I did was put it in Turbo mode and leave it there. I play mostly pump and a little mech semi (when I do play, which is rare). They do what they do well, so why not let the electro do what it does well?" I feel a good electropneumatic gun has generally better consistency than a blowback, and obviously less kick. Of course it's all dependent on the gun. If price were not an issue and someone interested in only played with a pocket hopper were to ask me if he should take a stacked tube blowback or say, a Dye Matrix, I'd suggest the Matrix. Just my opinion on the matter. |

| Active Member Join Date: Jul 2006 | Am I too weird here? It's not just electros. As robertsr pointed out, some guns just WANT more paint. I have a pneumatic triggered carbine. One of two that exist. Everyone I know who has played with it, even those not aware of it's secrets, tells me that while using it, all self control in the ROF department is lost. I had to put a regular mechanical frame on it for a while, but the damn gun threw a big sulk and decided it didn't like me anymore. I swear it's possessed. The second I put the demon trigger frame back on there and give it some regular maintainence, it's back to eating cases of paint whole. when I use the carbine, it's like the gun takes over, and just wants to go nuts, raining paint on people. I don't have it with any other gun, and I think electros just hate my guts or something. but that one gun.... |
