| Had a disappointing end to a paintball filled day Well after going to the field and playing from 10-4 for 15 bucks I was about to leave and get my tank filled off. Some 15 or 16 year old ref was filling so i gave it to him and he hooked it up to the 3000 psi filler my tank is 4500 ( i dont know if that was a mistake that caused it) and he went to disconnect and he got it stuck on the fill nipple. He yanked it off and ruptured the fill nipple oring. I have never had this happen and the "manager" said this could happen often and is no fault of their and so i wasnt screwed out of a tank i asked if i could by the oring, but couldnt, so i purchaced a CP fill nipple for 15 bucks. It take #60 buena orings where the crossfire took #60 polyurthane which i cant find. I guess the main question in here is does this happen often and wasnt this little refs fault or do they deteriorate over time. I have run HPA and LPA for 2 years now and not a single one of my tanks have ever had this happen.

| O-ring do deteriorate over time. They are a wear part. They can get worn out faster by abuse. You stated that the hose was 'stuck', it could have been stuck from being pressurized and the sudden depressurization could have slammed the piston in the fill nipple and popped the o-ring. If they make this a habit, then of course it will happen often. Now since it is a wear part they can't really be responsible for replacement. That being said, I have had only 1 fill nipple go bad(slow leak) over the 5 years I have been in paintball. |

| I've had one on my PMI reg blow. It was only a $5 part though, from the local store. $15 is sorta outrageous. |

| VOTE BEER IN 08 | it cant be a 60, that would be huge. It is probably a 006 ure, they are about 1 dollar from any worthwhile machine shop |

| The hose being stuck on the fill nipple was a symptom of the blown o-ring, not the cause. The reason it was stuck was because there was no way to vent the pressure built up between the tank and the fill station. |

| MCB Member | They blow all the time.. most likely if you didnt have a fill nipple cap it was your fault not the refs. My rental tanks at work eat those orings in about a month or so in heavy use

| Thats good to know. I do keep a fill nipple cap on it at all times one of those hybrid metal ones. well at lowes and home depot they both call the 006 a #60. Well thanks for the replies I guess it is wasnt their fault, i t just seemed wierd that it happened all of the sudden.
