"crack shooting" redux

Well the last one got closed because I was "arguing" with everyone's posts. I dispute that, but alas a mod can think whatever he wants and no one can tell him he's wrong.

I do want to hear what people think, though, whether I relate to it or not so I'm going to post the question again and not reply to any of the posts hereafter.

So again:

What is the problem with "crack shooting" from a PLAYER'S point of view?

EDIT: You may want to talk about what your definition of crack shooting actually is, as well.

Here is the original thread, so you can see what has been discussed:
"Crack shooting"

Hey that's a good point, maybe responses should include what you think "crack shooting" is ...

When I posted that quesiton, my definition was shooting either out through or into the space between two pieces of structure that are adjacent to each other (i.e. represent one "bunker"), for example two air bunkers or two hyperball tubes, a space that is often only a few inches wide.

Okay I guess I will make neutral replies such as this one, but none regarding your position on the matter.

I think he means shooting out of a bunker through a crack. This has been discussed before (at extreme length) and I don't really care to discuss it again. However, I think it boils down to individual field rules and is largely pointless discussing it on a larger, more general scale. If a field has a "no blind firing" rule and the "crack" is too small to normally site down the barrel and see exactly where you are shooting, "crack shooting" in that circumstance would be against the rules. If there is a rule stating that any bunker should be treated as a solid barrier when firing from within, regardless of incidental cracks or holes, then it would be against the rules. Play within the rules of the field you are at. Case closed.

Unless it is specifically against the rules there is no problem. Only place I know it is not allowed is EMR's Castle

If it becomes blind shooting then its illegal. If you are actually aiming at a person through the crack where you can see them what is the problem?

And if this thread goes the same direction as the other one it will be cloased also.

As I said in my latest pm. If a field says you can not shoot through a crack in a board, then their rule stands and you either follow it or don't play there. Simple as that.

Same as here. You either follow the rules or don't play here.

Something as simple as asking about what do you feel about crack shooting, shouldn't turn into you arguing everyones point.

Play safe.

What if it's from a very short range? What if it's some newbie with an electro who can't control himself?

I think that's when it becomes a problem.

10 foot rule. You yell bunker and they are out. REALLY annoys me. I'd rather get lit up and have to chance to shoot the guy rather than someone running to the other side of my bunker and just yelling bunker and me being called out...
