| Counter Agg? BPS rebellion? (Imperial clothing advisory) I am fully prepared to be crucified on a bunch of Tied together KPs, But I've gotta ask: Is this forum getting less and less friendly to the concept that once in a while, Ditching the pump, pistol, or 3357 and picking up a 'Semi' *Gasp* can be fun? And furthermore, that some people play in moderation: Mecahnical semis, for example. Sure, even an old field rental prolite has more firepower than a Phantom, But is it to be reviled? To be considered 'unclean'? what I'm really trying to get at here: Is this a matter of the whole Lightsaber VS Blaster Jedi thing (More civilized weapon, from a better time) or is it some aversion to the people who Use the dreaded semi: Agglets, rentals, and the generally unenlightened? Elitism? I really want to know! I suffer from it too. A couple of tournie neophytes came up to me asking questions about my TAG-8 like 'Is that all you're bringing on the field' or 'Don't you have a -real- gun?' But then I bust out my carbine (Illegally modified, of course: breaking the laws of thermodynamics) And people start to run away from me. I swollow cases of paint Neatly, and Whole at times, but it satisfies the Dark Side, if we're keeping up the whole Star wars analogy. |

| My Phantom is not as clumsy or random as a semi... I enjoy all aspects of paintball, and I sometimes like the feel of ripping on an electronic gun, but I am just more content with pumps and the odd mechanical semi. By no means do I chastise others for doing what they find fun. After all, that is what this is all about, having fun. And winning, of course. Last edited by idkfa; 06-22-2008 at 12:01 AM. |

| Plenty of us here have both pumps and semi's, Dont tell velcor but some of us even shoot electros. And id like to pretty much quote idkfa's post. As well as he I definitly enjoy taking my pumps and stock class gear out onto the field. Its got nothing to do with trying to one ball people. For me the pumps and especially SC gear is much more fun and personally challenging.

| I'd be willing to bet the "feel" of the gun, and the level of difficulty is most of where the complaints begin. Shooting an electro, it's freakin impossible to feel the trigger break, like you can feel on a mech. The gun doesn't relay the same, "Ok, you shot me" feel to the user. Add to that many are cheaply made, and encourage laziness like laning and shooting a guy into a bunker, while moving to your next. Shortcuts. Yeah, IF I played competitively often enough, I'd grab an e-flinger. Just to keep up with the Joneses, and have a "emergency chute" for the tight situations. But screw it, I don't play that often, and when I do play, I wanna improve. So I use my pump, or mech cockers. They feel great in my hands, they shoot where I want them to, they're fast enough, most of the time, and I don't have to deal with those wretched aluminum-wrapped, acid-filled boxes that hurt when you lick them. I focus more with a pump, and enjoy myself more. I'm guessing most of us here play as much for enjoyment and the challenge as "winning", and I enjoy it more when I use mechs. So I sold my electro.

| Well personally I really don't care as long as the person behind the marker is a good player and is nice etc. I love my pump markers and I don't own anything but pump markers...I have fun playing with them. I do like being different and I wouldn't mind their being someone else at the field who did play pump but for now I don't mind. And also....their is nothing that will top that certain smile on the field when one ball is shot and lands right on someones mask... Plus another thing is when was the last time you saw a group of tourney players (not trying to categorize) or most semi-auto rec shooters....in a fire-fight doing hammer time or dancing...doing the matrix type moves....and just mostly out there for fun and it not mattering whether they win or lose... I can't believe you guys are still using markers I'm down to the cross bow and paintbrush...lmao Paints an S for skiddish and rides away in the paintball tank
