![]() Thanks for the advice guys. I'm going to make sure I have the monroe county sheriff's number in my phone next time and the address for the disc golf course so they can find it easily. My issue with calling the cops is these kids would see them coming and most likely take off. Whereto I don't know, but if I can detain one, it would certainly make it easier. I'm kind of hoping Drum would chime in here and let me know what I'm allowed to do. Maybe I'll give the Sheriff's office a call this afternoon and see what they say to do. Either way, the number is going in the phone and the gogs are going in the bag for next time. ~Carter

| I call it asault, and you have a right to defend yourself. Call the cops, and just tell tehm that you are getting shot at.

| According to one teammate of mine: Because compressors weren't around yet, prehistoric man used their CO2 tanks as clubs to bash in the heads of their enemies. So I'd just be careful when taking their gear away since they would most likely try to shoot you as you approached them, and upon disarming the kids of their gear a more primitive instinct might take over and, then supposedly that would make you the bad guy.

| Call the po-po. And no need to try and detain.. assualt on a minor can be a troublesome rap to beat. E

| Cutthroat Connoisseur | The way I understand it, is that it's someone's property that is open to the public to use. The owner mows the fairways and greens and such, and pretty much leaves it up to the players to maintain it as far as keeping it clean. It seems to work. |

| Also... if I remember correctly... any arrest (and subsequent charge where you are found guilty) for a "violent" incident will require you to forfit your carry license. Detaining a minor through use of force will pretty much fall into that catagory. And even if the detaining was found to be legal... have fun with it in civil court if you manage to hurt the kid. E

WilD, I like the idea of calling the property owner. I'll see if there's contact info on the bulletin board the next time I'm there. edit: so in looking at the satellite view on google maps, it appears the woods line is the back end of several properties. 43.077770, -77.766098 (Baker Farm) - Google Maps I suspect these kids came from the houses to the east that border the woods line. Should I pay a visit to these houses in the evening and ask the owners if they have young children who play paintball? I feel like maybe trying to find the source is a better idea. These kids are pretty young so they couldn't have come from far away. Then once I identify the source I can sit down and talk with the parents and let them know that if this happens again, I'll know where to send the police. That should get their attention enough to discipline their kids; I hope. Last edited by d4rksabre; 06-24-2008 at 10:30 AM.

| If there is no info on the property owner on site (I would think there would be for insurance reasons) then call the county tax department. They should be able to give you contact info for a specific address. I would call the police today though and file a report.... it might prevent lights and sirens the next time you call allowing for a good response where they get the kids and not scare them off. E
