Who Cares About Feedback?!

Seriously, I've been noticing a lot lately that A LOT of people "won't ship first no matter what". A lot of them tend to be new to forums, and even the ones that have been at different forums for a long time, they don't care.

It used to be whoever had the least feedback would ship first. Sure, there'd be different things that might change that, but it was still the most common thing to happen. And beyond that, people promote their feedback, saying that they have enough to be trusted. Then they won't leave any feedback for anyone else??? What?! I've had about a dozen trades, purchases, and sales, that people haven't left diddly squat. They have horrible communication, and just want to drop their stuff and move on.

I asked this same kind of question over yonder whom we do not name here, and I was banned for it! What is wrong with people lately? It's happening over here more and more often as well. And then people complain, and get irritated when they don't get what they want, when they want. It just doesn't make any sense to me. Sorry, if this post made anyone mad, or irritated, but it's getting out of hand...

It did not used to be that the person with the least feedback shipped first.

It used to be, and still is that the buyer pays first. Even in WTB threads the person who started the thread will pay the person selling the loot before the loot is shipped.

Its been like that as long as I can remember.

I would never ship someone anything valuable before they pay me based on their feedback, haha..what a crazy idea.

I would surely ship first if they were someone that needed the item asap and someone that I trusted for other reasons. Even if I havent met them in real life.

EDIT: Cunha beat my post by a few mins

The one thing I dont understand is the whole "Ships first" idea.

To me, as long as I have been trading, the person selling gets the money then ships. The person buying pays and then has the item shipped to them and if people are trading they ship at the same time or use a 3rd party.

I have no idea how someone could say to a seller. "Send me the item first and I will then send you the money"

Also I have never really had the need for feedback. Usually the people I trade with have a reputation here and can be trusted. But in the year or two, I have actually been denied trades because I dont have adequate feedback. That really pissed me off.

I totally agree. I am sick of seeing someone come onto this board and with their first post offer something up for sale but with some of the most ridiculous demands ever. They act like the fact that they graced us with their presence is enough for them to be able to "make the rules". Not only this but they don't take the time to read the MCB rules and then get offended when they are politely pointed out. There is absolutely no respect given but plenty is demanded. This is why I basically refuse to do business with anybody with their own "Rules" posted in their buy/sell/trade threads. The two biggest pet peeves of mine are the "I don't ship first no matter what, no way, no how!" when they have absolutely no verifiable feedback and the "By posting in my thread you agree to ship first"/"You came to me not the other way around so you will be shipping first." again usually posted by a person very new to the board with absolutely zero feedback. Anyway just letting you know you are not alone Drachen. I feel your pain/annoyance.

(Oh and in response to the above posts the "Ships first" thing refers more to trades than sales.)

/end rant

How do you get banned for asking a question like this? That is all kinds of lame.

meh... Caveat Emptor....

I would have to really, really, really, really, really, really want a marker badly, and have money to burn to deal with anyone who copied and pasted their lame-other site-styled F/S thread and has no feedback here... It's just not going to happen. And for some reason if I did, my offer would read:
Quote:
upon receipt of item as per your description funds will be sent/or in the alternative an MCB third party (of my choice) can be used at joint expense
.
Otherwise, as Guru says: NEXT

Yeah, I guess I should've been more specific, I do more trades than buying things. Though, to a point, I can understand the whole "you came into my thread, you ship first" to a certain degree. Nobody wants to get screwed over, but being just plain bull headed about it, like Rabid said, we should feel special because they're trying to sell/trade their stuff to us, it doesn't make sense.

But yeah, Harbinger, for some reason the person who banned me called it "spam". I posted one message, about 3 weeks ago, and got banned. All the more reason to avoid that site for me.

Alright, now I'm done. Just wanted to see if I was getting too irritated, or if others think it's odd too.

That sucks dude. But I do get a good chuckle when they come here and post their personal rules while completely skipping the MCB rules.

I've noticed this quite a bit in the last month or two myself. It only takes, what, a couple of minutes tops to read the BST Rules. It's not rocket science.
