| Sooo MCB, what's next? Hi there folks, so I'm looking to buy a new marker in the foreseeable future, and I'd like some opinions. First off: I'm a pump player. I'd maybe buy a semi/electro if it were unique, but I haven't found too many that interest me. I had a blazer, and traded it off for another pump. I'm a big fan of my phantoms, and I like the stock class one the best. Open class pumps are kinda fun sometimes, though. So I'm planning on doing a custom project in the near future which involves a phantom, lots of time and money, and (hopefully) an amazing end result. I saw what someone had done with a phantom at DDAY this year, and Wow; just wow. I grew up shooting firearms, so I'm thinking a marker in a rifle-stock would suit me. I've been thinking of doing three things, just can't really decide which I want to do. A- I've been thinking of sinking a phantom into a wooden stock and all that jazz that you saw up above. B- I've sorta been looking at the PPS Pyre. From what I hear, you can sling a little paint accurately with the T-handle, and they're extremely consistent markers. C- I've been looking at Hurcs for a looooong time, and they do interest me. I'd really like something more compact than a tank on the underside of one, maybe an air-thru stock sort of deal, or 12ies (though I've heard they won't do 12 gram hurcs anymore.) So sound off, folks, and let me know what you think. First-hand accounts of the pyre or hurc would be a plus! Thanks! Hatchet |

| Hawaiian-shirted hooligan | I, too, was a big fan of the Phantom. That was until I got my Sterling pump. The only Phantom I have is actually with my nephew in KY as a loaner, but as soon as I get it back, it's going to be sold. I haven't shot a Pyre, but I have held one and pumped it. From what I have read, it's better than a Blazer. If I can con BigMatt into letting me shoot his Pyre (he's only shot it 19 times so far), I might end up selling the Sterling and getting a Pyre myself. No experience with Hurricanes, but I'd love to try one.

| Hatchet, you saw my teammate's phantom.. Allied Sniper Corps, JC, right? I'm pretty certain.. That marker sold me on the idea. If I ever put one in a stock.. I'm getting his design. Lo

| Yeah, Lo, I did. I was in Shadow Ops with JC, as a matter of fact. I've always toyed with the idea of slapping a Phantom into a stock, but never really thought it could accomplish much. Then I saw how sleek his was, and I was more or less sold. It won't be identical to his, though I do love the look of the M1 Carbine, so I'll most likely go with that. I plan on getting it done in Omnipat, and possible putting a pneumatic trigger on it. The phantom has an awfully stiff break in the trigger, which tends to pull my shots off if I'm not careful. |

| If you're doing something like that then go whole hog. A Phantom in a stock, modify it for lever action like an old Lee Enfield instead of the shotgun style pump and do a remote pulled back trigger assembly and charge the feed port from below using a spring feed magazine for 6 to 8 balls. Or am I going overboard again....

| There's no such thing as overboard. =) I'm not a huge fan of the lever action, simply because of the range of motion required. I play a lot of woodsball, and I don't want to have to raise up just to work the lever if I'm laying against some tree. Beyond that, I'm just used to having a pump handle out front. I'll rout a new one through the bottom of the stock and attach it to the old pump arm, I reckon. The spring feeds not a bad idea, though; I hadn't put any real thought into that....hmm... Now I have to work out how to make a reliable springfeed, any suggestions? It'll have to have either a weaver or 3/8'' rail on top, too. |

| You should contact Noxx for the springfeed. He is a great guy to deal with. I think a phantom in a wooden stock would be ridiculously awesome. If you won the lottery recently, ASP sells punisher's crowdbuster trigger groups. http://www.airsoldier.com:8080/cgi-b..._Code=PUNISHER If you get the hurc, you could always use a CCI 12g changer in the asa. |
