I really like the people that call dibs on an item and then never follow through. If its my sale thread, I will say when the item is no longer available.

Hate that.

I feel you brother. I have sold a bunch of stuff as of late. In order to facilitate my sales I have always just said my prices include paypal and shipping costs to avoid all of those headaches. I always expect to get lowballed, but when some jackass is offering half of what I am selling it for, that is just downright rude. My personal fave however are people who ask you to part something that has been blatently marked with a "Will not Part" disclaimer and yet I still get several PM's of "Will you part out item x?" C'mon, if I wanted the item sold individually, I would have sold it as such. Most of the time parting that item out would make the rest of the items in the package worthless. I am sure I have plenty more, but this is all I could think of right now.

As far as dibs go, I figure the person who waves money in my face first gets the item. If another buyer offers me more money during the sale, I will naturally sell to them. Life is tough, deal with it.

Most of that stuff doesn't bother me (except maybe the "PM me your lowest price" to which I reply "no"), especially the requests for pics or information... I don't throw hundreds of dollars away on a whim and I don't expect anyone else to either. What does piss me off is people who message me saying they'll take it and then when I send payment info I never hear from them again. It's not such a problem here, but whenever I list on PbN, I usually "sell" the same item about six times before I'm actually paid by someone.

That's why I include a disclaimer that says I'll mock you regardless of your offer if you post it in my thread. That way I don't have to take any posted offer seriously, so people don't keep clogging up my thread with lowballs. The "PM offers, don't post" (bold, caps and red, I don't get how people still miss it) and "the only dibs I accept is cash in hand" are the only two rules I ever seem to need.

"PM me your lowest price" doesn't bother me. If they ask that for an item that's $100 obo, I just PM them back and say $100 obo. I've had some really funny "who's on first" style PM discussions because of that. Well, funny to me, at least.

I don't understand the problem. Whenever I have bought an item from someone here I even go the extent to let them know I am in Canada because of shipping costs. I just purchased an item here and asked specifically if the price posted was good to Canada as well. I never haggle over the price. I just keep looking for what I want closer to the price I want. Do I overpay, maybe, but the people I deal with will remember the transaction, how well it went and according to Karma, good things will come back to me.

I like to adhere to a general rule of thumb that anything more than 10% below asking price on a marker is a "lowball" and probably insulting. So $10/100, or $50/500. Obviously this assumes that the asking price is ballpark in the first place, but if someone is selling a stock M98 for $400, they're probably not someone I want to do business with anyway. Depending on what I'm selling, I'll also factor this in (i.e. if someone offers me 10% below what my posted price is, I'll probably take it unless my asking price is already low or it's a trival item under $50 or so bucks).

I would rather haggle via pm, as I feel a little common decency goes a long way. The posts that just say," Pm me your best price", are just laziness at best. If I want to buy something, I always send a pm or email for any offers I make.

I have had some of your respective countrymen try to pull a fast one before on shipping items up there. I always list stuff in my sale threads stating that I don't mind shipping out of the country, but the buyer will pay the difference in shipping. I think that it is fair. I hate getting replies saying I have to ship something up to Canada or elsewhere for the same price that I list as shipped stateside. Too me if a potential buyer is not willing to pay the shipping for what they want, they don't want it, and I am not into supplementing someone else's shipping costs.

I think I am going to offer everyone $20. If they really have to sell their space gun and say OBO and I my $20 offer is the only offer, therefore the best offer they should have to sell it to me for $20.
