| This is killing me So I've been out of the sport for awhile now, probably haven't shot a gun in over a year and a half, but I thought I'd come on here to check up on Brad and to sell my remaining guns. Now after coming across picture thread after picture thread, I'm drooling over Phantoms all over again. I want to get back into the sport, but I just don't know if it's reasonable. I have a back injury and I can't really do anything super physical for awhile. I also am trying to modify my car and PB money will take away from that. On top of that, I don't have anyone to paintball with. I'm no longer friends with my old partner and don't know anyone who still goes in my area now. Even after all of this though, I keep looking through ebay and craigslist and wevo trying to find the Phantom of my dreams. I've also stopped myself from putting an offer down on some KPs. What's wrong with me? Why can't I just let it go? Anyone else go through this? Is it worth it to get back into the sport or do you just grow out of it again? |

| Welcome to the world of addiction. Will the aftermarket car modifications help the value of your car? probably not much, plus you can't really insure the aftermarket stuff. Will a Palmer's Stabilizer help the value of a particular marker? Yep. It's really a simple matter of economics. Plus, what better way to rehab your back than to work on guns, restoring and upgrading. Fear not, you're among friends.

| Personally, I have never (and will never) grow out of paintball. This is my 20th year playing and I fully expect I will be playing for more than another 20 years. Purchasing a Phantom and having it ready for playing when you are ready isn't a bad move. Phantoms hold their value well and will last you many, many years (even if you don't shoot it much). Buy one to satisfy your craving and restrain yourself from any more 'guns until you are fully addicted again. Then you may commence draining your bank accounts and running up credit card bills!

| Don't let a physical condition keep you off the field. I lost my left foot in a motorcycle crash last August. I got my prosthetic in December and by January was already asking refs to let me start in a bunker so I could play. I still don't get around very well, can't run or crouch but I am playing tourney ball already. My team has been nice enough to have me aboard, so I get in the biggest back back bunker there is, shoot lots of paint in lanes, and call positions as loud as I can. It is awesome physical thearapy and is driving me to get stronger and faster. The rest of it are things you will have to work out in your own mind, but never use a physical condition as an excuse. Just do what you have to, overcome it, work with it, and hit the field. GL  |

| I second punkncat. A local guy lost his right (dominant) arm at the shoulder due to a snowmobile crash 2 years ago. Less than a year later he was playing scenario games with us and his incredibly heavy A-5. Don't think that a physical condition can keep you from doing something. I have back problems myself (and I'm only 22), but I don't plan on letting that keep me from doing what I want. Where there's a will there's a way, and it feels damn good.

| I've had a disc in my back removed and fused...I play in pain....but I still play...In the heat of the battle....I don't feel any of the pain and this is one reason I like the game... Enjoy the game as much as you can......

| Dammit you guys are right. Looks like I'll be trolling for a Phantom now. It's not really a pain problem for me, it's that I'm going to be college baseball in a year or so and I can't have the pain in my back. But hopefully the injury will subside in a few months without play and then I can get back into baseball and paintball. |

| I have arthritis in both feet due to birth defects which were late corrected. I play slow and cautious with an occasional move here and there. Can't run up fast enough to bunker anyone, but hang back, watch and call out positions and take out who I can... I have a blast, even with slightly limited mobility. For me, the day after play is the worst. I cannot walk. Even to the bathroom for the first few hours of the day, and slowly put pressure on my feet little by little after that. My philosophy is to live life and have fun while the rest of my body will allow it. Come play with us in Sacramento if you can... we're a bunch of laid back folks.
